Coordinate the multi-disciplinary Adult Protection Team in the protection, prevention, and implementation of treatment for vulnerable adults who are victims of abuse, neglect or exploitation.
Provide professional, medical training to the public and private sectors regarding the medical aspects of abuse, neglect, or exploitation of vulnerable adults. Perform other related duties as required. KSAs: Knowledge of nursing principles, practices, and techniques. Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology. Knowledge of indicators, evidence of abuse, neglect, and exploitation (A/N/E) of aged and disabled adults. Knowledge of Chapter 415, Florida Statues, Chapter 10A-7, Florida Administrative Rule, policies and procedures relating to Adult Protective Services.

Work is performed under the supervision of the Regional Program Supervisor. Duties and Responsibilities Review and interpret medical records to assist protective investigation and supervision
staff with medical decisions relating to investigations of adult abuse, neglect, and exploitation and provision of services to vulnerable adult victims.
Support Adult Protective Investigators and Human Services Counselors in the backssment of capacity to consent to services. Provide written reports of nursing opinions and death reviews in accordance with current operating procedures and policies concerning alleged abuse, neglect, and exploitation reports received through the hotline. Assist investigative staff by providing medical opinions on issues relating to investigations of adult abuse, neglect, or exploitation of vulnerable adults. Make recommendations for intervention through immediate and on-going protection of victims of adult abuse, neglect and exploitation.
Coordinate the multi-disciplinary Adult Protection Team in the protection, prevention, and implementation of treatment for vulnerable adults who are victims of abuse, neglect or exploitation. Provide professional, medical training to the public and private sectors regarding the medical aspects of abuse, neglect, or exploitation of vulnerable adults. Perform other related duties as required. KSAs: Knowledge of nursing principles, practices, and techniques. Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology.
Knowledge of indicators, evidence of abuse, neglect, and exploitation (A/N/E) of aged and disabled adults. Knowledge of Chapter 415, Florida Statues, Chapter 10A-7, Florida Administrative Rule, policies and procedures relating to Adult Protective Services. Knowledge of medications prescribed for aged persons and disabled adults. Ability to participate in the detection, prevention, protection, and planning of treatment for victims of A/N/E. Ability to work with individuals having a variety of physical or emotional problems. Ability to review and interpret medical documentation and reach professional, expert opinions regarding A/N/E.
Ability to utilize a computer to summarize the medical documentation reviewed in the form of a well-written report. Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Ability to perform public speaking. Ability to facilitate training. Position covers throughout the Northeast Region, base office location determined per application/allocation of office. Licensure/registration/certification requirements Employee must hold a valid, unrestricted Florida Driver's License, have the use of a private vehicle, and maintain current, appropriate vehicle insurance.
