The All-New Tartan 395 A beacon of beauty, power, and quality, in a sea of production sailboat mediocrity, Tartan Yachts continues to grow its well-earned reputation for building the best looking, best built, performance cruising sailboats in the business.
Tartan 395, fresh off the drawing board of Tim Jackett with four boats on order as of
this writing, now takes her place in the enviable continuum of fine Tartan sailboats begun nearly 60 years ago. Every detail of design and construction on Tartan 395 is scrutinized to deliver uncommon cruising performance. Her hull shape is an evolution of tried and true concepts proven to deliver great stability and high interior volume while maintaining comforting manners throughout a wide range of sailing conditions.
The hull and deck laminates, multi-axial layouts of uni-directional e-glass fibers that sandwich closed cell structural foam coring (hull) and time-tested balsa coring (deck), are infused with modified epoxy resin. This process delivers a void-free laminate, with the optimal
glass fiber to resin ratio resulting in a very stiff, strong, and lightweight hull/deck structure. Tartan’s dedication to industry-leading laminating materials and processes allows design flexibility and the ability to focus strength where it is needed while saving weight where sensible to enhance performance.
On deck Tartan 395 sports hallmark Tartan design elements such as a traditional, stylish cabin house fitted with attractive and highly functional polished stainless steel rectangular portholes. Natural ventilation and light are expected on every Tartan and 395 lives up to her heritage with 12 house-side portholes, 2 birdpit portholes, 7 deck hatches, and 2 Dorades. The birdpit is
the social and sailing center of any sailboat and 395’s is large yet secure.
With twin wheels set wide, sight lines under sail and power are unobstructed and clear. This arrangement also provides a clean center walkway to her hinge-down transom platform. All sail controls are lead aft through rope clutches to cabintop winches and the birdpit headsail trimming winches are within reach of each helm position. With the self-tacking jib sheet and mainsheet double ended and led to the birdpit winches single and shorthanded sailing are a snap. Tartan works with the best and most trusted suppliers of deck hardware in the world to ensure correct sizing and installation, a further testament to Tartan’s commitment to delivering on the promise of the best sailing and best equipped sailboats in the business.

Just Back From the Bahamas!
Ready For the Next Adventure! Yepp.there's no hiding the obvious.this 1979 C&C Encounter 26 was born with a red hull. That was painted over with yellow and the yellow is now peeling off. The hull appears to be in pretty good condition - except for needing a bottom job - but the peeling paint is a distraction. This
Encounter 26 is similar to the original C&C 26, however with a shorter keel, shorter rig, and a heavier displacement. This makes this sloop a great rig for running over to the Bahamas.and this one knows the way! It's made the trip many times. Below there is a good-sized salon with a folding table, a head forward of the salon, and a V-berth in the peak.
The galley has an Origo 2-burner stainless steel unpressurized alcohol stove, a stainless steel sink with both fresh and raw water pumps, and a new Frigo 12V refrigerator. Above here is a fully-battened loose-footed main, a Harken main traveler, and a boom with end-boom sheeting, all new in 2020. This allowed the traveler to be moved from
the companionway to the aft end of the birdpit. This change permitted the installation of a new continuous Dodger/Bimini in 2020. There is also a mainsail cover, new in 2020.
Additionally, there is a 110% jib with Selden roller furler, a Gennaker, and a storm trysail. Also, since 2020, there is a new boom vang, and all new sheets and halyards with professionally spliced whipped ends and reeving loops. The halyards are all run to the birdpit with new rope clutches. Ground tackle includes a Rocna 10kg (22#) anchor with 170' of 5/16 HT chain and a Fortress 7 anchor with 30' of chain and 150' of rode. These are managed by a manual Lofrans windlass. Electric generation/storage include 280
watts of solar panels with Bluetooth controller, 3 recent lead acid Group 9 batteries and a recent lead acid starting battery, a recent Guest 2 bank battery charger, and new DC panels.
There is also a 30 amp shore power with cord and a 50 amp-30 amp converter. Navigation aids include a Garmin Echomap UHD 94sv 9" plotter/sonar with an external transducer mounted on the hull, a Garmin wind indicator, a Ritchie 6" compass, a Raymarine ST2000+ tiller pilot, and a Standard Horizon GX2000 VHF radio with AIS & DSC, all new in 2020. There is also a Boss stereo and a masthead LED tricolor/anchor light, both added in 2020. When the boat is not under sail it is powered by a Yanmar 8HP single-cylinder diesel engine.
The engine starts and runs good, but it is believed to be original and the hours are unknown. There's a lot of capable sailboat here for the money. Don't wait.it won't last long! Beautiful classic boat!
Ready to sail away into the sunset. This one is beautiful and sea worthy. A very nice pocket cruiser that was made in Islamorada, Fl. primarily for Keys and Bahamas. All of the Glanders were hand-laid by a very picky builder. The first Cay was delivered in 1960. Only 112 were built over the years as the Glander Company
was and still is committed to quality over quantity. Like the other vessels produced by Glander, each was handcrafted and custom-built. Over the years the Cay has not only found market acceptance, but the yachts have performed in ways ordinarily limited to much larger vessels.
Cays have successfully completed transatlantic voyages on both east and west legs. For a small yacht, they have distinguished themselves in an outstanding matter.
