This classic 1986 Ericson 30 is part of the first robustly-built Ericson boats built in 1985 by Bruce King. This Ericson 30 handles well in weather and could make a comfortable liveaboard. The boat is well-balanced and sails both on and off the wind under headsail
only, making it easy to sail single-handedly. You'll love the large birdpit with its curved helmsman's perch to compensate for varying degrees of heel. The angled seatbacks make it comfortable for the crew. Below deck, the layout is spacious and inviting.
The dark blue cushions set off the teak used throughout the boat. The sole is teak and holly. If you're standing by the companionway ladder, the galley is located to port and opposite is a forward-facing navigation table whose seat is the head of the quarter berth. Moving into the salon, there is a teak table surrounded by large wraparound seats which convert to form a double berth, and a long settee to starboard. There is storage space

Durable tooling gelcoat was then sprayed, sanded and buffed to a mirror finish for final inspection and measurement.
Visible on the hull plug photo is the keel slot insert, which is precisely located at the outset, so that all subsequent molds are matched on this critical dimension. Deck Creature comforts come in many forms on the J/70. The 11' long birdpit and moderate height boom allow easy crew movement across the birdpit while tacking and jibing. For sitting and hiking comfort, mid-height padded backrests/lifelines run birdpit length, making J/70 one of the most comfortable boats to helm without having to rely on hiking straps to keep you in the boat.
