53 years old Mustang, with the 289 2bbl 8 cylinder engine and automatic transmission which explains how it has survived all these years.
You see the V8 cars, well they were usually raced or driven hard and modified throughout the years, and the manual transmission 6 cylinder cars usually had the engines yanked out and a V8 installed, so they
could be race or beat on. But the nicest and most well preserved examples of the Mustang Iâve ever found have been the 8 cylinder automatic hard top cars like this one. The exterior is in excellent condition, original paint still showing well with minor chips and a small ding in the leading edge of the trunk (see all pics).
The interior is incredibly well preserved and original looking like it did when it sat on the showroom floor nearly 50 years ago! Under hood photos show the original 289 V8 engine having been maintained and well preserved throughout the years. Underside pics reveal a solid chassis with minimal superficial rust present on most components (again, see all pics please).
This car runs and drives well and would be a delight to own but should be completely serviced before any extended driving to ensure safety and reliability. I just installed a new Battery, Alternator, new drive belts, Adjusted the brakes so they work well and replaced the spark plugs.

The car starts right up and can be driven as is. Other than the new items listed below the car looks to be all original. I don't know the history of the car but I do not see any evidence of any body repair. The floors look real good except for an area under the gas pedal that has been repaired.

1964 Lincoln Continental Convertible that is a very solid car and really just needs some small details addressed to be a very nice car.
The motor sounds great, trans and brakes are great, and the overall body is very very solid for what these cars are typically. The car was put into dry storage after it was used for filming on the movie Parkland
several years ago, so it will need the necessary service work that is typical from being stored over a period of time. The car was recently pulled out of the dry storage and fired up, and the motor sounds great, the transmission goes right into gear with no effort, along with the brakes being in full working order, but the car could use the fine tuning or flushing to systems that need to be addressed from sitting.
There are some issues like the Convertible Top Hydraulic Lines needs to be replaced due to leakage, and it needs the typical power window switches replaced or rebuilt, along with other smaller items here or there. The front vent windows and front door windows are in working
order, and the top system works if you keep pouring fluid into the reservoir as the pressure lines leak, which means the electrics are fine. The car can also use a new canvas top could even though it isn't torn, but it is old and the rear glass is yellowed, along with some stains that are not easy to remove from a white colored top.
The supplied pictures of the bottom of the car will show how solid and original this car is, and you can see in these pics that the Unibody, Floors, Rockers, Trunk, Deck Lid, Door Bottoms, Fenders, Quarters, are all in awesome original and solid shape, and there is not any of the typical rust repair that these cars are known for. There are a couple small bubble
spots under the older paint job supplied in the gallery, and in the pictures you will see there are 3 bubble spots with two literally being smaller than a dime, and the 3rd spot being a common spot behind the passenger door about half way up the quarter panel.
That is basically all the rust issues with this one, and that is extremely hard to find, so please don't miss out on a hard to find clean freshen up car. The rear trunk lid is in perfect shape and has not been welded on or previous rust repair, and that is basically Unheard of with these cars. The trunk is solid and rust free with the exception of a small rust hole about the size of a half dollar at the bottom of the spare tire sump, and it is an extremely easy fix.
This is a very nice example that really only needs tidy up, so this car will save you considerable money that would need to be spent on the typical bring back from the dead project, because we all know how expensive Rust Repair, Interior, and Chrome on these cars can be, but this car is clean and solid without those expenses. The Chrome and Trim is very nice and bright without the typical tired appearance most cars this age have without being rechromed, and that is also a huge freshen up savings packaged right into this solid example.
The Black/White Tuxedo Interior and leather is in awesome shape with little to no cracking or dried area's, and the interior should be run exactly as it is as can be seen in the pictures.

The car âs windows are clear and intact along with the headlights, which look fantastic. The car âs bodywork is straight, its engine bay is extremely tidy, and the car âs chrome bumpers fit tightly to the car âs body and shine brilliantly.
A novel factoid about all 1956 full-size Chevrolets is that the driver âs side taillamp hides the fuel filler cap. Under the hood is Chevy âs well-known Blue Flame Six, a 235 CID straight six-cylinder engine breathing through dual exhausts. It âs paired to a three-speed manual transmission with a column-mounted shifter. Inside, the car âs white vinyl and black cloth bench seats look very sharp
and are in excellent shape, as is the black carpeting and the contrasting white headliner. The factory two-spoke steering wheel is present. The wheel, instrument panel and inner door panels are all in very good condition.
Completing the interior is a Custom Sound AM/FM radio. This car is a testament to a simpler time, when a car could be repaired with a set of hand tools versus a computer and you could see the pavement or ground under the engine with the hood open.
