1978 datsun 280z black pearl, one of the last original Z cars ever made with a very very late production number.
in 1979 the 10 year ZX edition was introduced and the original Z line was concluded with this black pearl datsun 280z color code 638. These cars had black pearl paint along with a unique stripe louvers and option aluminum wheels.
the production amount is believed to be between 650 and 750 but that is what i am told. it is very solid as it has been living in a garage for all that time. however it is NOT a brand new car so dont expect one. i have taken this car to shows and there have been times where i would drive it around a few days in a row, but i have not put many miles on it in the time i have had it.
it does start up idles right away, runs and shifts well, has cold ac, upgraded exhaust. this car can drive a long trip if needed. the body and paint are good, paint is not original and is an older paint job, starting to show some minor flaws, paint is driver quality, may have a chip or 2 slight fade, if you need
a show car a paint job would be required. there is a small ding in the hood. striping is not original but is an adaptation of what was originally on the car. i do have the original 3M unused stripe kit sold separately.
interior is very good only having minor wear, dash has a cap on it. seats look good and the car has a nice stereo in it with multiple surface mount speakers. please review pics as what you see is what you get. the car has many removable mods like the wheels(enkei), mirrors , spoiler and stereo. power windows have also been installed but can be removed. clock and speedo have stopped working recently. the majority of these mods were installed before the datsun z cars started to explode in value. this is not a concourse car but a nice driver that can be taken to the next level very easily. Mechanically-The car runs and drives excellent! Pontiac 350, TH350 Automatic. 2.73 rear end gear. Drives excellent, cruises at 75 mph on the highway The engine fires right up with no hesitations and is very reliable. All of the factory emissions equipment is still in place! The factory
exhaust system is even intact with the catalytic convertor. Factory muffler. The factory power brakes perform very well. New tires mounted on factory aluminum honeycomb wheels. No major leaks. Exterior: The paint is in very good shape, presenting itself very well!
No missing clear coat, no dents, no scratches to be found. There were some touchups on the front bumper (pictured)No cracks in the bumpers, all the panels line up great. Doors shut perfectly.
