Support/lead relevant regulatory food safety focused audits. Act as a food safety team leader within the plant, assist the food safety team by supporting the food safety management system. Assist in the management of the
food safety management system compliance to appropriate government regulations. Investigate and follow up on food safety incidents that occur in the plant to ensure they are properly reported and ensure corrective action and permanent corrections are taken.
Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff. Report Monthly/Weekly Quality metrics to staff and Management. Manage and report on the held product inventory. Coordinate and train employees in Quality-related processes, procedures, and refresher training. Supervise Quality employees at Mechanic and Franklin facilities, ensuring employees are properly
supervised, trained, encouraged and productive. Manage Quality employee time off requests, scheduling, disciplinary action, performance reviews, and employee engagement in coordination with Quality Management and HR.
Assistance to the QA Director/Manager regarding any special needs that may arise. Other duties as assigned by Manager which may not be reoccurring. Job Responsibilities: Provide Leadership for the successful day to day operation of the production facilities. Work closely with the Safety Manager to ensure that all safety programs are being communicated and reinforced, so that all departmental personnel are aware of safety polices to provide a safe workplace for our employees. Work closely with the Production Supervisors to review production schedules for all production
rooms to ensure that order requirements are met while maintaining the highest efficiency possible. Identify production constraints and work to remove them from the production process to improve efficiencies and enhance productivity.
Encourage and promote operating in a continuous improvement environment. Monitor and report daily production rates. Work closely with the Quality Control department to review product quality, consistency and to confirm adherence to specification. Work closely with the Maintenance department to schedule PM time, process improvement, and identification of equipment requiring immediate attention. Provide coaching and guidance to all production operations employees.
Conduct performance reviews Review and issue employee disciplinary notices for production staff.
Work with production team, facility maintenance, and quality team to maintain production facility to " audit ready" standards Lead Special Projects / Initiatives in the Production Facilities as directed. Qualifications: Minimum of 3 years of prior management experience in a manufacturing environment is required. High School diploma or equivalent required. Prefer college degree or coursework. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Bilingual Spanish/English preferred. Strong leadership, and project management skills. Six-Sigma and Lean manufacturing experience preferred.
Ability to work irregular or extended hours as needed to support projects and staff.
