We have also made significant changes to the compiler to enable enterprise features like fine grain access control.
This is a “must-win” strategic area in a growing and very technical space. We are looking for a hands-on engineer to help us improve the engine further. We are looking to make deeper changes all around the query engine codebase. As a Sr Engineer on the engines team, you will help with direction, design and implementation of key areas and mentor the next set
of engineers. Key job responsibilities • Hand-on development for core components of the query engine • Design and develop solutions and algorithms to improve performance of spark and/or trino • Interact and partners in the open source community • Ensure data consistency and durability with breakthrough performance and scalability.
• Improve the organizations automation and testing capabilities • Manage complex deliverables project and research projects with deadlines • Mentor and train other team members on design techniques and engine good practices • Be a point of contact for challenging customer issues around query engine problems About the team The team is composed of engineers that
are either passionate about the engine internal space or have several years of experience (including Ph D).
Our managers are also extremely technical, having worked many years as developers. We manage our backlog with a research approach, where ideas are prototyped, validated with real data and then implemented. We all have families and see our work as a marathon, not a spring, so we make sure we balance our work to avoid overpromising deliverables. Always maintain safety standards. Ensuring compliance with appliance standards and with the Occupational Health and Safety Act. Prepare operational reports. Update job-related knowledge or skills. Assisting with customers' queries. Qualifications: Valid and insurable driver’s license with clean driving record. Minimum of 2 years of HVAC experience in new construction. Certifications and training in HVAC, preferred. Strong working knowledge of codes and OSHA safety standards preferred. On-the-job training and continuing education assistance provided.
