Job Summary: Process requests for laboratory work by obtaining specimens and inputting required information in the Laboratory Information System (LIS) and Clinical Information System.
Provide reports and other related information to clients as needed. Collects, prepares, and processes specimens for Reference Lab Testing. Performs Point of Care (POC) testing. Essential Phlebotomist/Lab Assistant Functions: Draw blood samples from the patient following set guidelines including strict adherence to National Patient Safety

e. backups. 20% Verify and perform proper follow up for neonatal screens. 10% Perform routine maintenance procedures and function checks on laboratory centrifuges using established procedures. Maintain the laboratory work area so that it is organized, neat and uncluttered. Assist with the supervision of subordinate personnel. Refer all problems to supervisor. Any one or combination of the following equivalent to two (2) years (24 months): A. Associate's Degree eighteen months (18 months) in medical laboratory technology (MLT). OR B. Completion of a vocational training program for Medical Laboratory technology. OR C.
