Who will you be working with? As a member of Field Services Americas, you will be responsible for helping our customer (BNSF) maintain their fleet of GE/Wabtec locomotives through advising, informing, researching, and assisting their mechanical employees. You will be part of a team made up of Wabtec technical and materials experts, all working to ensure our customer's fleet is running at optimal levels.
How will you make a difference? Our Locomotive Maintenance Technical Advisors are trained subject matter experts in diagnosing and troubleshooting a variety of locomotives. They receive world-class training at our corporate training facility where they become certified in troubleshooting and advising on the maintenance of state-of-the-art locomotive engines. Multiple levels of training and certification are available to our Locomotive Maintenance Technical Advisors, which provides them with multiple career opportunities within the company as their careers progress. What do we want to know about you? That's ok! We provide in-depth technical training to give our technical advisors the knowledge and expertise needed to be successful. What will your typical day look like? Provide clear communication and technical guidance to railroad employees and management to include troubleshooting, material assistance, tooling and / or locomotive status, safety procedures, productivity and process improvements, and contract requirement clarification. Coordinate and provide instruction on key programs and procedures related to locomotive maintenance and modifications.
Provide technical mentorship to teams, including troubleshooting, material handling, tooling, safety procedures, and contract requirement clarification Provide clear communication to employees, customer management, and Wabtec management on work to be performed, equipment status, efficiency, and process improvements. Partner with teams to promote, maintain, and drive continuous improvement in safe work practices while supervising productivity, quality assurance, and adherence to contract requirements Ensure compliance with all governmental regulations, OSHA work practices, and industry / site specific work rules Work with employees and management on establishing production plans for labor, material, and logistics Work with various software systems to run material, labor plans, and other systemic requirements All other duties as required What about the physical demands of the job?

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The salary range for this role is $57,000 - $99,700. The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands, and work location. All Roads Lead Here! Intern: Mechanic (Maine): Pike is looking to hire Technical College student to work as Mechanic Intern at our Benton Shop. As an intern within our Equipment Division, the selected candidate will learn about the repair and maintenance process and practices Pike follows to maintain the equipment fleet to operate safely and at the lowest cost possible.
Throughout the summer the intern will be exposed to a variety of our repair and maintenance practices; conducting tests and completing preventative maintenance on all brands and types of mobile equipment, learning about work orders, purchase orders, and maintaining inventory.
Classification: Non-Exempt student hourly position. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Work in the shop to learn about and assist with work order process from creating to completion. Work with shop foreperson to lean and enter vehicle condition reports. Learn inventory processes for required parts/supplies. Trouble shoot and maintain all types of heavy equipment, including but not limited to reclaimers, milling
machines, loaders, graders, dozers, pavers, rollers, dump trucks, Redimix trucks, trailers and road tractors.
