Duties and responsibilities include backssing information and preparing watershed reports; recommending additional data collection; analyzing and interpreting data to determine aquatic ecosystem health; assisting development of TMDLs; and developing and implementing watershed restoration management plans. This program relies on partnerships and close coordination with managers and technical staff of the Program, Division, Department, Water Management Districts, local, state, regional and federal agencies, the public, and the regulated community.
This positiion is specifically responsible for guiding developpment of TMDL implementation plans. This responsibility requires extensive public contact and creating effective working partnerships with watershed stakeholders. Required responsibilities include: Research and help develop materials, including briefing sheets, power points, and talking points, for the Office of the Deputy Secretary to support events such as public workshops, webinars, and external meetings. Prepare executive briefing sheets, agendas, presentations, and travel plans for external events as necessary. Travel as necessary to support Division leadership at events across the state.
Help maintain a calendar for external meetings, in collaboration with the Office of Communications. Support communications between agency partners, and external partners, in coordination with the Office of Communications Draft Florida Administrative Register (FAR) notices, managing public comment periods, and related community engagement outreach for the division. Develop and maintain relationships within the Division and with external partners to support ongoing events and help maintain contact and outreach lists.
