It will also serve as a back resource for other substation major apparatus equipment such as transformer, breakers, and switches. This SME will work with other SMEs to lead in their specific area to review maintenance test results, interprets and provides guidance on procedure updates, supports continuous improvements to automate internal processes, and determine root cause

analysis for equipment that may fail. JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs a wide variety of engineering support for Grid and Construction groups as a Subject Matter Expert of specific Transmission physical equipment.

Uses engineering/technical principles, best practices, and knowledge of internal and external business issues to solve problems, develop cost-effective, technically sound solutions, and improve products or services. Reviews maintenance results and equipment issues then applies knowledge of engineering principles in evaluating equipment performance, making decisions, and interpreting/employing applicable electrical codes, procedures, standards, processes, and policies. Supports

activities to comply with applicable industry standards (i.

e. NERC, SERC) and other utility regulations, as required. Works with other disciplines within the Transmission organization and other company business units to achieve stated goals. Assist with storm/emergency restoration efforts as necessary. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Discipline (typically Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, ) from a four-year accredited institution. Degrees in engineering technology (typically, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, and Industrial) from a four-year accredited institution with PE may be considered. As an Electrical Engineer, you will work in multi-disciplinary teams and provide expertise in the design of electrical power systems and equipment for a variety of industry projects.

General Job Duties This entry level position will allow you to perform assignments that will develop professional working knowledge and abilities through the

application of applicable codes and standards, as well as engineering calculations and techniques, procedures and criteria. You will exercise limited, but increasing, judgment in performing your assigned duties using methods prescribed by your supervisor.

Typical Activities of the Electrical Team prepare single-line, metering and relaying, schematics, and protection logic drawings; perform electrical system, equipment sizing, and auxiliary system calculations; size, select, and specify transformers, switchgear, motor control centers, and distribution panels; size, select, and specify power, control, and instrumentation cables; size, select, and specify direct-current/uninterruptible power

supplies and emergency generator systems perform raceway, grounding, lighting, and cathodic protection drawings Basic Qualifications Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering at an accredited college or university within twelve (12) months of graduation date Ability and willingness to relocate and/or travel to domestic and/or international project jobsites Possess the eligibility to work and remain in the US without visa sponsorship, now or in the future Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check Preferred Qualifications Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering at an accredited college or university within twelve (12) months of graduation date Completed relevant coursework with a strong GPA Prior co-op or internship experience Excellent written and oral communication skills Shaping tomorrow together Bechtel is one of the most respected global engineering, construction, and project management companies.
