Evaluates and/or recommends purchases of computers, network hardware, peripheral equipment, and software. Installs, configures, and maintains the city's LAN/WAN network infrastructure, network servers, network infrastructure, network cabling, public safety communications system, and other related equipment, devices, and systems; adds or upgrades and configures disk drives,

printers, and related equipment. Primary support responsibility for the city's VMware server infrastructure and for the city's VMware Horizon virtual desktop infrastructure Performs and/or oversees software and application installations/upgrades.

Works with the Director of Information Technology and/or the IT Manager to maintain software site licenses for the department and organization. Implements network security, including building firewalls, applying cryptography to network applications, managing host security, file system permissions, and file system integrity.
