The attorney in this position will play a key role in providing legal support, benchmarking and thought leadership to businesses developing and maintaining our managed accounts, which include retail discretionary and non-discretionary offerings.

These accounts collectively manage approximately $450 billion in invested assets, making Ameriprise Financial the largest independent broker-dealer (IBD) in the managed account space. This attorney will also support and continue to develop our industry leading

financial planning business, which is our differentiating value proposition. The attorney in this position will provide advice on key regulatory and policy matters.

This role reports to the VP & Group Counsel for Retail Investment Advice - Legal. Key Responsibilities - Provide legal support to various projects and initiatives by spotting issues and providing guidance that applies the federal securities laws impacting all aspects of retail investment advice, including Regulation Best Interest, the Investment Advisers Act and applicable FINRA rules and state securities regulations - Provide day to day legal support on managed account offerings, including discretionary and non - discretionaryaccounts

- Support Ameriprise's core value proposition of providing goal-based advice in one of two ways: Comprehensive Advice or Foundational Advice - Support development of marketing materials including sales collateral, proposal tools, digital engagement experiences and websites -Identify and prepare updates to client facing disclosures and agreements to support new products/services and to address regulatory changes - Negotiate master advisory agreements and other vendor agreements -Support the conflicts of interest program at the global and business segment levels, including documenting and advising on conflicts of interests and associated controls conflicts of interests and associated controls - Cultivate and promote relationships with key business partners and fostering and promotinga culture of compliance - Conduct research regarding legal and regulatory requirements as well as benchmarkingindustry practices - Collaborate with Compliance personnel on relevant compliance related matters andidentifying, developing and implementing control enhancements and risk mitigation strategies; and - Work with regulators, outside counsel and independent experts from time to time onexaminations and other issues.

Required Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree or equivalent - JD with experience and expertise in the Investment Adviser's Act of 1940, state securities and investment management statutes and regulations (i.

e. Regulation Best Interest), and applicable FINRA/self-regulatory organization rules - 0-1 years relevant experience - Proficient in legal research computer based tools, such as Westlaw, Lexis and Microsoft Office applications -Demonstrated accuracy, thoroughness and thoughtfulness in legal analysis - Strong communication skills, both verbal and written Preferred Qualifications - 1 to 3 years of experience as a practicing attorney supporting the financial services industry.

- Knowledge of applicable regulatory and industry trends - Proven ability to analyze a variety of legal issues, synthesize sophisticated information, and provide legal advice to business partners and General Counsel's Office colleagues in a timely fashion - Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, communication, presentation and negotiation skills - Proven track record of collaborating and contributing effectively in a team environment and across teams within and outside of legal; exceptional partnership and relationship building skills. - Self motivating with the ability to work autonomously and to effectively prioritize multiple tasks at the same time.

The position possesses expertise in managing human resources activities for SHRA and EHRA employees. This includes providing in-depth interpretation of University HR policies, providing consultation and advice on HR issues and concerns, and implementing and advising on unit-level, School of Medicine, and campus-wide HR strategies and plans within assigned work units.

The HR Consultant will serve as the principal contact for managing HR activities within his or her respective units. The goal of the fellowship is to enhance and broaden the fellow’s forensic backssment skills. Under supervision, fellows will conduct forensic evaluations at an inpatient forensic hospital (Eastern Louisiana Mental Health System - ELMHS) and in private cases.

Fellows will be responsible for performing a wide variety of forensic mental health backssments with forensic patients, incarcerated individuals, as well as those in the community. A wide range of evaluations are requested at the ELMHS forensic state hospital and include: competency to stand trial (CST) evaluations, evaluations for malingering, psychodiagnostic clarification, intellectual and cognitive evaluations, and violence risk

evaluations. Evaluees are justice-involved individuals who have been adjudicated not guilty by reason of insanity (NGRI) or deemed incompetent to stand trial by the court.

Fellows will be responsible for selecting, administering, scoring, and interpreting psychological tests with the goal of writing high-quality integrated forensic reports. Additional forensic backssment opportunities are available through conducting private evaluations. These evaluations consist of referrals from attorneys, courts, and medical-legal professionals. Private forensic cases will encompass both criminal and civil areas. Typical referrals include competency to stand trial evaluations, violence risk backssments,

and trauma and PTSD evaluations with both federal and state agencies.

A large portion of case referrals are for mitigation and resentencing evaluations for Federal Court. Fellows will also have the opportunity to participate in administrative and clinical meetings, conduct forensic research, and when possible, supervise other trainees under the umbrella supervision of a licensed psychologist. Fellows will attend forensic training seminars and scheduled didactics, including landmark case seminars and expert witness seminars. The forensic fellow is responsible for leading the ACGME-required Forensic Journal Club/Research Seminar. Participation in the annual mock trial conducted jointly with the Tulane Law Clinic and the Tulane Forensic Psychiatry Fellowship is expected.

Additionally, observation of psychological testimony and the opportunity to testify is also possible. Qualifications: REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Completion of Psy. D. or Ph. D. in Clinical Psychology with a concentration in forensic psychology at an APA- accredited program by the start of the fellowship. Completion of an APA-accredited internship with an emphasis on forensic psychology by the start of the fellowship. Eligibility for state or provincial licensure or certification for the independent practice of psychology by the start of the fellowship.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES TYPICALLY NEEDED TO PERFORM THIS JOB SUCCESSFULLY: Ability to use and interpret forensic psychological backssment instruments and the ability to obtain relevant data through third-party data gathering and a comprehensive forensic interview. Ability to integrate results and formulate interpretations consistent with data, relevant to the conclusions related to the legal question. Excellent forensic report-writing skills, including the ability to write an accurate, comprehensive, and defensible integrated forensic report focused on the referral/psycholegal issue.

Excellent time management, organizational, and self-management skills. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in high-stress situations. Working knowledge of, and practice consistent with, the Specialty Guidelines for Forensic Psychologists and the APA’s Ethical Principles and Code of Conduct for Psychologists. Ability to initiate and manage forensic research projects. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Strength in backssment, particularly knowledge and experience with administering and interpreting forensic backssment instruments.

Interest and ability to provide expert testimony in a clear, articulate manner, consistent with ethical and practice guidelines. Eligibility for board certification in Forensic Psychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP) at the conclusion of the fellowship. Interest in conducting forensic research.
