Position Summary: The School of Education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill invites applications for a position in Organizational Leadership and Learning, starting July 1, 2024.

This is a full-time, 9-month tenure-line or tenured appointment depending on rank at the time of hire. Candidates will carry out a research program, actively pursue external funding, and contribute to collaborative and interdisciplinary efforts across the School of Education and campus. Candidates also will (a) develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the Human and Organizational Leadership Development (HOLD), Organizational Leadership and Learning (OLL), and related programs and areas delivered in face-to-face, online, and/or blended formats; (b) support strategic initiatives across the School and campus; contribute to the ongoing development of undergraduate and graduate programs; (d) actively recruit and supervise undergraduate and graduate students; and (e) provide leadership and service at the local, state, and national levels.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Candidates must hold a doctorate in education, sociology, organizational psychology, or closely related fields. Candidates at the assistant professor level must have an earned doctorate at the time of hire. Candidates at the associate and full levels must have an established record of research, funding, teaching, and service to meet the University’s requirements for tenure and appointment at the respective rank.

Depending on rank, candidates will demonstrate a research program that will lead to an outstanding and sustained record of scholarship and securing external funding or will already have such an established record. Candidates will have strong potential, or an established record, of outstanding university teaching and guiding students through dissertation research projects. The North Carolina Children’s Hospital is part of a quaternary care medical center with a 64-bed multidisciplinary Neonatal Critical Care Center (NCCC) that admits over 900 patients per year and supports active pediatric general surgery, pediatric cardiothoracic surgery, newborn airway programs, as well as being the referral center for central and eastern North Carolina. The Division of Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine currently consists of 19 faculty members and 7 fellows who are part of a fully accredited Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellowship Program.

NIH-funded research projects include the ELGAN-ECHO Study and participation in the NICHD Global Health Network, the Neonatal Research Network, the Pediatric Trials Network, and investigation focused on neonatal intestinal inflammation.
