What Youll Do We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Grow Pro Underwriter to join our team, responsibilities include: Focus on underwriting and expanding
the market share of the NIP Group's Grow Pro Program. Utilize subject matter expertise to underwrite greenhouse and nursery accounts, negotiating rates, terms, and conditions for new business.
Contribute to the distribution strategy and product form to increase the market appetite and share of the Grow Pro Program. Manage key relationships with brokers, producers, the insurance industry, and clients. Collaborate with senior leadership to align program strategy with the company's overall business and underwriting plan. Measure and optimize portfolio profitability and growth through data analysis and monitoring industry best practices. Report directly to the Grow Pro Program Manager.
What Were Looking For Minimum 7 years of P&C underwriting experience in manufacturing and/or food processing industries. Proven track record of driving growth and underwriting profit. Experience underwriting on both admitted and non-admitted paper. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to create and refine underwriting portfolio strategy. Proven experience in developing processes, methodologies, and campaigns for program success. Ability to drive cross-functional alignment with sales, operations, and marketing teams. Expert-level relationship management and broker distribution skills.
Excellent understanding of commercial programs insurance markets, coverage, competitors, and market trends. Experience in a mid-size business unit and/or a company undergoing rapid change or growth. Underwriting/Insurance designations preferred. About the Position We are seeking an experienced P&C Commercial Lines Underwriter with specialized knowledge in the construction industry to join our Site Pro Program. As a Commercial Lines Underwriter, you will play a pivotal role in backssing and underwriting various lines of commercial insurance policies (Commercial Auto heavy), with a primary focus on serving clients in the construction sector.
Your expertise in commercial insurance and understanding of the unique risk exposures associated with the construction industry will enable you to effectively evaluate risks, develop coverage terms, and ensure the profitability and success of our business.

What You'll Do Within compliance of the program guidelines profitably underwrite and grow an assigned book of new commercial business including both property and casualty lines of coverage. Create value added solutions including negotiating customized
coverage, terms, and conditions to enhance NIPs reputation as the industry expert in targeted niche industries.
Analyze loss history, claims data, and other relevant information to make informed underwriting decisions and develop appropriate coverage terms and conditions. Maintain an established loss ratio objective and meet assigned production goals. Develop and nurture profitable relationships with the assigned agents and brokers by providing highly responsive and exceptional service. Efficiently prepare comprehensive underwriting referrals to Staff Underwriting and/or Carrier partner. Maintain individual underwriting account files to remain in compliance with NIP file integrity standards.
Work with Program Manager to achieve new business production goals. Participate in marketing events to promote the NIP brand within selected niche industries. Operate with the highest level of accuracy in alignment established workflows and offer suggestions on potential efficiency improvements. What We're Looking For Education Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience. Successful completion of technical insurance coursework toward such designations as CPCU, ARM and AU is preferred. Experience 5+ years of multiline commercial underwriting experience with focus on construction accounts.
MGA experience highly desirable. Familiarity with multiple rating and issuance systems. Competencies Results and goal driven mentality with strong problem-solving abilities. Exceptional customer service orientation with the ability to create and strengthen internal and external relationships. Ability to efficiently analyze large fleets and large driver schedules. Familiar with auto composite rating and DOT filing requirements. Ability to negotiate new business terms and conditions based on underwriting guidelines. Ability to operate independently but collaborate when necessary.
Ability to operate within Underwriting Guidelines and refer accounts when necessary. High level detail including maintaining underwriting file documentation. Excellent technical, verbal and written communication skills Strong organizational skills, integrity and follow through.
