ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF STYLIST Consult with client to determine
the service(s) to be provided by discussing the client's desired outcomes and providing recommendations to the client.
Produce desired effect by appropriately shampooing, cutting, drying, rolling, coloring, or styling hair while adhering to all spa and salon policies and procedures. Ensure client satisfaction by providing high-quality salon services in a timely manner, including arriving a minimum of 15 minutes prior to the first appointment each day. Assist residents in a safe manner to and from work station, including assistance with transferring from a wheelchair to the work station chair, as necessary. Maintain a clean and orderly work station by adhering to Oklahoma State Board of Cosmetology and Barbering standards on a daily basis.
OTHER FUNCTIONS OF STYLIST Assist in providing a high level of customer service to all spa and salon customers. Notify Lead Stylist of any products, supplies, or equipment repairs that are needed. Deliver used salon towels to laundry department for cleaning. Perform other related functions as required or as assigned. STYLIST QUALIFICATIONS A minimum of 3 years of experience in a stylist position is required Previous experience working with older adults or in a healthcare setting is preferred High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience is required Current Oklahoma Cosmetology license is required Strong technical knowledge of various hair services including, cutting, coloring, perming, blow drying, shampoo sets, and highlighting Basic computer proficiency with the ability to use web-based scheduling software Solid problem solving and decision making skills Strong interpersonal skills and understanding of quality customer management and service Strong verbal communication skills to effectively address issues and concerns with diverse populations while showing compassion and empathy Ability to effectively interact with a diverse leadership team, staff, residents, and third party associates, including vendors, providers, and visitors Ability to effectively manage sensitive and confidential communications and information, while maintaining a high level of poise, tact, and diplomacy An extensive amount of standing, turning and twisting, reaching above the shoulders, and hand-eye coordination, with a moderate amount of walking, pushing, and bending at the waist Ability to occasionally lift and push up to 25 pounds, including pushing wheelchairs with loads of up to 300 lbs Frequent use of ordinary communication, including normal levels of hearing and vision, including both near and far seeing, color discrimination, field of vision, and depth perception Understanding and carrying out verbal and written instructions Occasional use of arithmetic and performing calculations Planning own work activities Working independently or as a member of a team, and the ability to work with limited supervision Occasionally working on multiple tasks at the same time, under moderate amounts of pressure for results, with requirements for extreme accuracy Ability to deal with multiple and diverse personalities, continual interruptions, simultaneous and changing priorities, while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor WORK SCHEDULE Schedule is flexible and will most likely work 1-2 days per week.
