Explains procedures to patients to elicit cooperation and maximize effectiveness of procedures. Documents work activities through patient records and periodic reports as requested by management. Promotes awareness of adjunctive massage therapy services through interaction
with hospital staff, physicians, patients, family members, professional organizations and community groups. Assures personal and professional development through participation in educational activities and completion of annual competency validation.
Actively participates in performance improvement activities at the department, hospital and/or Carilion Clinic level. What We Require: Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Graduate of a state-approved
massage therapy training program. Experience: None required. Previous patient care experience preferred.
Licensure, certification, and/or registration: Currently licensed/certified as Massage Therapist in the State of Virginia. Currently certified in ACL BLS-HCP. Other Minimum Qualifications: Positive interpersonal and oral communication skills, effective written communication skills, ability to resolve complaints/problems, and ability/willingness to work as an integral members of a multi-skilled team.
