Marketing support - develop content for and review various Trust communications/marketing for members. Meetings/Conventions- Develop and present educational programs at various veterinary meetings designed to inform veterinary teams about risk management, including necessary types of insurance coverages for their practices.

Represent the Trust at and support the Trust exhibit booth. Attend meetings/conventions to keep current on industry changes, hot topics, and standards in practice, fostering relationships with industry leaders and contacts, meet “experts” in the various disciplines, promote the Trust program, and provide service to AVMA members. Oversees test barn activities including

Establish and follow test barn best practices and procedures to maintain sample chain of custody, and testing records. Supervises and/or assists officials and/or conducts identification of racing animals including physical examination for determination of racing soundness.

Safety of veterinary personnel, participants and racing animals. Provides professional advice, materials and testimony including representing the Department and Commission at meetings and hearings Serves as professional adviser to the Commission, Department and Stewards on drugsand medication. Maintains Veterinarian List, Veterinarian Assistant and veterinarian records, ethicalpractices as outlined by the Equine Practitioner. Examine Reports of practicing Veterinarians for adherence to the rules and regulations. Compile, prepare and submit monthly report to Manager concerning veterinary or chemical activities.

Examines stable areas to determine that sanitation, health and humane standards andanimal first aid are adequate. Recommends to the stewards any racing animal deemed unfit to race be scratched; maintain examination findings in national database; reports to the stewards inhumane actions and all manners of neglect, mosquito, fly and communicable disease control. Administer first Aid to injured animals', euthanasia procedures; Reports death of racing animals to national racing authority. Work with Association Veterinarian to submit horses for post-mortem examinations at veterinary diagnostic laboratories.

Job Summary: We are currently seeking a full- time Veterinary Technician that is energetic, dependable, compassionate, hardworking, and friendly!

The Veterinary Technician provides leadership and training to the medical support staff in the operation of a small animal facility in accordance with hospital policy and procedures. The technician will be able to communicate effectively with team members and clients and have great attention to detail and organizational abilities. Responsibilities: Physical Requirements: The veterinary technician must have the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb as well as manipulate (lift, carry, move) up to 50 pounds and over 50 pounds with a coworker. The veterinary technician must be able to endure sitting, standing and walking on hard floor surfaces for extended periods of time.

The veterinary technician must possess sufficient ambulatory skills to perform duties while in hospital environment. The veterinary technician must be able to work in noisy work conditions with sounds from animals and equipment that can be moderately high. The veterinary technician will be routinely exposed to a variety of pets that may bite or scratch, and on occasion, exposed to anesthesia, radiation, biological hazards, and medication/controlled substances. The veterinary technician must have good hand-eye coordination, arm-hand-finger dexterity with the ability to grasp and visual acuity to use a keyboard and operate equipment.

Qualifications: Major Duties: Our Veterinary Technicians are responsible for in-patient medical care- administer medications, assist or perform treatments, diagnostics & monitoring, place IV catheters, draw blood, run lab tests, administer IV fluids, cleaning, feeding, and walking patients as needed. Anesthesia/Surgery Our Veterinary Technician's prep, induction, maintenance, monitoring, recovery of patients, cleans/maintains/sterilize anesthesia equipment and surgical instruments.

Dentistry- Our Veterinary Technician's provide patient dental care, ultrasonic cleaning and polishing, assist doctor with dental surgery. Radiology - Our Veterinary Technician's position patients and assist with radiographs, sending radiographs via email. Laboratory duties- Our Veterinary Technician's are responsible for collecting, preparing, & running or submitting samples for requested tests; reading and recording results when indicated (fecals, Urines, Ear cytology etc) when requested by doctor. Preparing invoices, discharge instructions, and client informational tools Client communication for hospitalized patients - give patient updates, discharge instructions, and provide follow up for certain hospital patients.

Client medical demonstrations / education - teach/educate clients on at home care procedures. Veterinary Technician appointments- blood draws for therapeutic monitoring / screening tests, bandage changes, post-op checks, suture removals, AG, TNT. Clinic technician- assisting doctor with outpatient appointments, preparing, restocking, cleaning exam room, check patients in and out, take history and vitals, input data into patient medical record, ensure a smooth and timely flow of outpatient appointments from check-in to discharge.

Assist with reception/front desk duties as needed- answering phones, booking appointments, admit/discharge patients. Assist in training and mentoring new team members. Assist with inventory control informing inventory manager when products are getting low/out, unpacking, restocking drug & medical supplies. Preparing prescriptions - dispensed medications & medication refills.
