Duties and Responsibilities: Assist in determining animal requirements by helping conduct animal examinations, restraining patients, and reviewing care plans and records Care for patients by taking vital signs, collecting samples, administering vaccines, providing wound care management, completing laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging Assembling required supplies and instruments for procedures Perform anesthesia monitoring in surgical and sedation procedures including dentistry Fill prescriptions and administer PO, SQ, IM, IV medications, including proper documentation, logging, and security of controlled drugs

Maintain a safe, secure, healthy and humane environment by following documented standards and procedures in compliance with applicable legal regulations Maintain medical records by documenting patients’ conditions, reactions, and changes; updates database in an accurate and timely manner Ability to demonstrate and follow procedures in catheter placement and phlebotomy Qualifications and Skills: 1 year of veterinary experience and anesthesia monitoring is required Proficient with conducting dental procedures Experience with Ezy Vet software is a plus High School Diploma/GED Knowledge of medical drugs and calculations Able to perform moderately physically demanding work, that requires lifting (up to 50 pounds), cleaning, and constant motion Ability to work with or around sick animals, potentially hazardous materials, cleaning chemicals, gas anesthetics, zoonotic diseases, and unpleasant odors Available Schedule: We offer 10 hour shifts, 4 days a week Cochise Animal Hospital is open: M-W 7am-8pm Thu-Fri 7am-6pm Saturdays 8am-6pm Starting January 7, 2024 we will be open on Sundays from 8am-6pm Benefits We Offer: Competitive compensation commensurate with experience ($20.00 - $25.00 per hour) Health, dental, and vision insurance 401k + company match Paid time off Continuing education opportunities Professional development support Mental health assistance Employee discounts on veterinary services Scrub allowance Positive and inclusive work environment!

You will function as an important role in the ER / ICU treatment room floors through cleaning, stocking, and laundry duties, as well as assisting the technicians and assistants with keeping animals clean, dry, and comfortable. Management responsibilities Supervising and training Veterinary Technicians in their performance of technical tasks and client education duties. Scheduling of veterinary technicians and veterinary assistants in cooperation with the Practice Manager. Maintaining liaison with the Adoption Center Manager to ensure that all resident animals that require medical care and supervision are receiving said care.

Maintaining accuracy of all controlled substance drug logs. Oversee OTC sales of veterinary products Oversee completion of daily checklists and weekly maintenance logs (cleaning, kennel roster, tx sheets) before the end of the work day. Make recommendation to Practice Manager concerning personnel matters, staffing needs, promotions, re-assignment, hours of work or other status changes regarding veterinary technicians. Provide direct on-the-job training to new veterinary technicians Discuss disciplinary actions when appropriate with Practice Manager and assist with follow through.

Qualifications: Current NYS license. Five years of clinical experience and surgical experience. Knowledge concerning related federal and state animal health laws and regulations regarding OSHA and controlled drugs. Possess knowledge of in house labs. Knowledge and experience with entire surgical process including drug calculations and anesthesia. Must be skillful in phlebotomy and IV catheter placement.
