For each shift, there will be a nursing unit secretary, 2 patient care techs, 3 RNs, and a charge RN. The charge nurse will have a 2-patient assignment to maintain the 5 to 1 ratio.

The patient population will be general medicine patients. Typically, 75% of the population will have an underlying psychiatric illness.
