The Superintendent works closely with the General Superintendent of the region to ensure that the focus remains on company goals, such as safety, quality and workmanship that meets the Company and Owner standards. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Oversees and supervises field staff, craftworkers, and subcontractors. Interviews and makes hiring recommendations for non-union field staff. Works with the General Superintendent to coordinate the hiring and movement schedules of operational employees and equipment within the region assigned. Ensures compliance with safety plans, work plans and project specifications and monitors the performance of craftworkers and employees. Regularly inspects work for quality and timeliness; prepares and provides progress reports to owners and architects; makes recommendations for necessary modifications.

Trains and develops employees within current and future roles to meet both employee and company growth. Works closely with regional General Superintendent to develop strategic growth plans, yearly budgets, equipment purchase plans, and employee capacity. Collaborates with architect, engineer, Owners, and other pertinent stakeholders to ensure project specifications, requirements, and other regulations are met. Ensures specifications and regulations outlined in architectural and engineering plans are followed.

Confirms required permits and licenses are obtained; executes construction contracts according to terms of agreement. Monitors budgets throughout the assigned projects and communicates variances as they occur. Ensures projects maintain records related to costs, quantities installed and inventory. Addresses any safety violations or other deficiencies. Processes timesheets related to activities performed each given day for employees and equipment. Conducts daily Tool Box Talks and JSA's and weekly safety inspections of the overall site.

Ensures proper equipment is being used onsite for all functions of the work. Performs other related duties as assigned. REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES Must be willing to travel per project needs. Ability to work and think independently, solve problems and be able to lead a team/crew. Ability to oversee and coordinate a variety of people in different roles. Ability to recognize skilled and unskilled trade talents and weaknesses. Ability to read, understand, and execute blueprints, drawings, and plans. Thorough understanding of legal requirements relating to construction sites. Thorough understanding of quality construction practices.

Broad knowledge of community andpotential community resources. Basic computer skills, proficient in Word and ability totype a minimum of 25 words per minute. Maximum Entry Age: Firsttime appointees to positions covered under law enforcementofficer retirement provisions must not have reached their 37th birthday at the time ofappointment. Applicants age 37 or over who have previous law enforcement officerexperience under the Federal Employee's Retirement System (FERS) and who have eithera subsequent break in service or intervening service in a nonlaw enforcement officerposition may have their previous law enforcement officer experience subtracted fromtheir age to determine whether they meet the maximum age requirement.

Physical Requirements: Supervision, treatment and control of offenders requiresmoderate to arduous physical effort, including prolonged periods of walking andstanding. Physical dexterity and coordination are necessary to operate a firearm and useselfdefensive tactics. Travel within the Northern District of West Virginia or other partsof the United States may be required. Applicants must be physically capable ofperforming these duties and are subject to fitness for duty evaluations.
