They will participate on cross functional new product development teams & work closely with Industrial Design to bring designs from concept to production while utilizing strong engineering skills. This role requires ability to drive designs thru all required process while delivering market leading electromechanical product & system designs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Develop 2D/3D CAD from concept phase to production, as well as existing product improvement initiatives - Directly support Project Engineers in daily execution of new product development - Create and Evaluate various levels of prototypes via testing & research
data - Partake in and lead design reviews and FMEA's - Maintain and manage the use of controlled files in a PDM software (CAD, testing documentation, reports, SOPs, etc.
) - Work closely with Industrial Design, Product Development & Marketing to execute product designs that balance all requirements - Perform root cause analysis on products or systems to implement design improvements - Support Project Engineer in driving successful launches at Contracted Manufacture's - Support & Establish best practices as well as SOP's in CAD & product design Requirement: - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field or commensurate experience required - 3 years of relevant product engineering
experience in plastics and injection molded part designs - Background in electromechanical product design & testing is ideal - Prior work experience with high-volume manufacturing and assembly, preferably in Asia and/or Mexico - Working knowledge of electrical or electronic schematics & circuitry a plus.
- Basic mechanical and electrical knowledge of common high-volume products such as Power tools, Appliances, or Industrial equipment is a plus - Proficient in Solid Works or other CAD software is a must - Self-motivated and self-directed with strong time management skills - Agile and highly flexible to support a demanding industry with ability to handle multiple projects - Data-driven with excellent problem-solving skills - Detail-oriented, organized and disciplined with files and data handling - Demonstrated leadership qualities with ability to build relationships with cross-functional teams and global partners - Proactive self-starter that takes initiative with ability to work independently - Must be personable with excellent communication and listening skills - Strong sense of personal accountability, responsibility, and ownership - Capable of working efficiently and savvy with technology, including MS Office and PDM/PLM software - Assembly fixture, mold and tool design experience is highly desirable - Domestic & Possible international travel required To apply for this position please submit an MS Word doc of your resume and put in the subject " Job ID # 1961" #J-18808-Ljbffr
