The 400-cubic-inch V-8 engine is original to the car, with the engineâs block stamping indicating that the Oldsmobile powerplant was indeed built for a 1967 model year 442.
He also says it has never been rebuilt, although the oil pan gasket and timing chain were replaced about three years ago and the original Quadrajet carburetor was also
recently rebuilt. The oil pan gasket replacement cured the engine of leaks. the engine starts easily when cold, with only a few pumps of the gas pedal, and with no smoke. A Turbo Hydra-Matic 400 three-speed automatic transmission is paired with the engine. good working order, shifts smoothly and doesnât appear to have any leaks or weeping.
A black vinyl interior complements the Saffron exterior and is in largely original condition.

âIts drivetrain has matching numbers, â!
Rebuilding of the 350-horsepower 396-cu. in. V-8 had already been âcompleted in 2016 and 3,050 miles has been put on it since. â The engine features a two-bolt main block that was bored over, and new pistons were fitted. To boost output, a hotter camshaft, Hedman headers, exhaust with a crossover
pipe and Flowmaster mufflers, an Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold, a Holley carburetor, and an MSD electronic ignition system were swapped in. He advises to pump the gas pedal a few times on cold start and says that there are âno fluid leaksâ from the engine, and the four-speed manual transmission âshifts like new.
â As part of its rebuild, the Muncie four-speed was modified by fitting âan 0.80:1 fourth gear in place of the 1.00:1 gear to lower highway rpm, â. And he notes that the 12-bolt rear axle is equipped with Positraction and a 3.55:1 gearset. During the restoration, âthe quarter panels were replaced, due to rust. â The paint is âvery good, and was almost perfect
when new in 2020, â and that there are no swirls, but he does note are a few scratches where the trunk lid contacts the latch. The glass is âvery good, â with no scratches or cracks, the seals are in âperfectâ condition, and the lights work.
Per the cowl data plate, this Chevelle originally had a black vinyl top (code âBâ after the paint code), but decided to go with the painted roof look. the seats are in âexcellentâ condition, the carpet and headliner are ânew, â and the heat, AM radio, and air-conditioning unit from Vintage Air, all work. The only gauge in the optional cluster thatâs inaccurate is the oil pressure, which âreads high, â New bushings, shocks,
ball-joints, and steering linkage were installed during the restoration, but the factory coil springs were retained.
The âwheels are perfect, â he adds, and the BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires are said to be about five years old with 3,000 miles on them. The SS âdrives and brakes straight, â and the power steering has a âlittle play like it did when new, â but no leaks, that the power disc/drum brakes are âperfect, â and that the car ârides and handles like it originally did. â

One of 8,184 such sports roadsters produced that year, this 1979 Mercedes-Benz 450SL is described as âan entirely original example with barely more than 19,000 miles, â which he believes to be accurate based on its odometer reading and the fact that it has been reportedly owned by one family since new.
The paint, powertrain, and interior
are âas they left the factory in West Germany, â with the interior described as being in âas-newâ condition, and with chassis components that may be original. The 450SL was powered in 1979 by Mercedes-Benzâs 4,520-cc OHC V-8. With a compression ratio of 8.8:1 and Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection, the engine was rated by the manufacturer at 215 horsepower when new.

The engine is said to start normally without smoke, and the transmission reportedly functions without issues. A minor oil leak at the pan is noted. The engine bay appears
to be stock and generally clean. The paint on this car is original and free of swirls, noting paint chips on one quarter panel as blemishes. The convertible roof and hardtop are said to function normally, without leaks.
The seals are described as fair, with no leaks reported. The car is free of rust. The bumpers are free of visible damage and the chrome presents as being in very good unrestored condition, per the images. The 450SLâs lighting is said to be in proper working order. The seating areas in this 450SL are in visibly very good condition, with no tears and nearly no wear creasing. The photos also show the carpeting presenting as being in like-new condition, with no visible soiling
or worn spots. The hardtop headliner is said to be in âas-newâ condition.
The padded dashboard shows no damage and no missing trim or small controls. The wood veneers appear to be in good, undamaged condition. All instruments, including the factory Becker Mexico cassette radio, are said to be in proper working order. The power window lifts and central locking are said to work as intended. The transformation of this Mustang has been an ongoing process over the past seven years, which began when the carâs original 302-cubic-inch V-8 was replaced by a 351 Cleveland-cubic-inch small-block V-8 that is a strong performer.
the engine bay has subsequently been detailed, and the engine tuned. The engine is said to start immediately
and idle properly with no smoke. A previous owner replaced the original transmission with a floor-shifted Ford FMX three-speed automatic, which Ford produced from 1968 to 1979. It is said to shift well with no noises of complaint. New fuel lines and a new fuel tank have been installed.
this Mustang was painted in its present red 10 years ago. Overall this pony car presents well, including the underside. This 1973 El Camino features the numbers-matching Turbo-Jet LS4 454-cubic-inch V-8, with a four-barrel carburetor, 8.25:1 compression and dual exhaust, that was installed at the factory when new.
The Y in the VIN denotes that this was a 454 car from the factory. the top end of the engine was rebuilt 3,000 miles ago, adding an Edelbrock aluminum
intake and four-barrel carburetor, steel braided hoses, an aluminum radiator, and a new heater core. The El Caminoâs big-block 454 is mated to a floor-shifted Turbo Hydra-Matic 400 three-speed automatic that is also said to match to the engine and the VIN.
