Ensure staff are completing work assignments as directed and report problems to the supervisors.
Communicate with contractors to ensure procedures comply with INDOT standards and specifications. Perform winter operations duties including snow and ice removal. Perform regular inspections and routine equipment maintenance such as: minor repairs, preventative maintenance, refueling, and pre-trip inspections. Maintain, repair, and install traffic signs, route markers, pavement markings. Perform emergency response activities such as clean-up, traffic control, lane closures, placement of signs and erecting barricades. These additional duties may be performed depending on the job assignment: Bridge Maintenance Specialist Provide unit crews with technical expertise, oversight, and specialized equipment to ensure work is completed and report problems to the Bridge Maintenance Supervisor.
Operate basic and intermediate highway maintenance and bridge equipment to maintain, repair and clean bridges, highways, and right-of-ways. Testing Sample and test construction materials according to quality assurance and specification requirements. Visit material producers’ plants, construction job sites or INDOT facilities to collect material samples for testing.
Perform various test on materials incorporated into INDOT construction or maintenance contracts. Calculate and record the test results in the INDOT reporting system. Construction Involved in planning, design, construction, and rehabilitation of state-owned highways and bridges. Perform construction inspection, which include assisting the project supervisor/engineer. Ensure construction tests, measurements and inspections are completed and recorded in a timely manner. Perform facility maintenance such as repairing and installing brine making and storage systems. Geotechnical Services Maintain qualifications for the required Soil Test procedures.
Operate and maintain geotechnical laboratory equipment to perform soil & rock testing. Job Responsibilities Assist plant leadership in reaching day to day goals for the team to
include safety, quality, and machine operation Monitor team production rate and quality to meet shift targets Maintain shift records to include production, shipping, receiving, quality Promote and lead by example for all safety activities and compliance Ensure the safety of the assigned production area and report Safety issues of your direct area or any area within the plant to Leadership and/or Maintenance Monitor materials and supplies to ensure adequate inventories for production Handle paperwork for shipments, receipts, Bills of Lading, etc.

Provide direction to the production department associates in areas of safety, service, performance, quality and leadership. Responsible for maintaining and/or enhancing customer relationships, plant assets and a positive employment atmosphere.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/ PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide leadership and direction to the plant production associates in areas of safety, machine operation, sanitation, quality, customer service and maintenance. Adherence to the site's productivity metrics to include crew size, operational efficiency; scrap loss, etc. to optimize profitability.
Maintain a clear understanding of customer expectations for accuracy, quality and timelessness and develop methods for meeting or exceeding those expectations.
Training and enforcement of company policies. Communicate company philosophy, policies, and expectations clearly to all hourly personnel. Provide input in the establishment of setting plant budgets, goals and standards. Develop strong production team members through the effective use of performance management processes and tools. Monitor production performance and develop/implement action plans to address areas of concern or opportunities for improvement in a timely fashion. Create a positive working environment for all associates,
which support continuous improvement, reinforce company philosophy and policies and treat every individual equally with respect.
