Mechanic Assistant will be directly involved with field operations in order to prioritize all incoming projects to produce repair efficiency, sometimes in the field and possibly in inclement weather. The Shop Mechanic Assistant's customers are BSS employees!

TACTICAL WORK Inspect, test, diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on all BSS vehicles, machines and equipment (diesel, propane and gasoline) including but not limited to: Mowers Snow blowers Vehicles Trailers Snowplows 4-Wheelers Trimmers Various random pieces of equipment and small engines Create, clearly communicate and accurately document a plan of action and/or options for all repairs Stay well within budget

parameters and take a strategic approach to maximize equipment while minimizing cost Perform duties with minimal supervision Keep very accurate service records of time and materials, creating maintenance schedule Keep work space, entire shop and exterior of the shop or yard tidy, well organized, safe and clearly labeled so that all tools and supplies are accounted for and are easily accessible Possess ability to apply knowledge to similar equipment Willingness to work on any company crew (BSS prefers and provides opportunities for year-round employment) MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Ability to work at least 40 hours per week A minimum of one year experience as a mechanic or two years as a mechanic apprentice/assistant
