Hire Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced PLC Controls Technician to join our dynamic team. The PLC Controls Technician will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our automated manufacturing processes. Job Duties: Perform routine maintenance and calibration of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) to ensure optimal performance. Diagnose and resolve electrical and control system issues to minimize downtime. Develop and modify PLC programs to optimize production
processes. Troubleshoot and debug PLC code to identify and rectify faults promptly. Configure and integrate Human-Machine Interface (HMI) systems with PLCs for efficient control and monitoring of production equipment.
Maintain and repair electrical systems, including motors, sensors, and switches. Collaborate with electricians to ensure the electrical infrastructure supports PLC operations. Create and update technical documentation, including schematics, manuals, and maintenance records. Provide regular reports on system performance, maintenance activities, and improvements. Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while working on electrical and control systems. Assist in the development
and implementation of safety procedures. Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements in PLC-controlled systems.
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to implement enhancements. Train and mentor junior technicians and production personnel on PLC operations and troubleshooting techniques. Provide technical support during production runs and emergency situations. Qualifications: Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in PLC programming, troubleshooting, and maintenance within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the food industry. Strong knowledge of various PLC platforms, such as Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or Schneider Electric.
Proficient in electrical circuitry, motor control, and instrumentation. Familiarity with Human-Machine Interface (HMI) systems and their integration with PLCs. A commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team. SQF Food Safety Code for Manufacturing. Set up, troubleshoot, and repair stacking, bagging, check-weighing, UPC bar coding, case erectors, and conveyor equipment.
Dismantle and reassemble equipment for repairs, cleaning, and lubrication according to maintenance schedules. Test, troubleshoot, and repair 110/230/460 volt electrical equipment, including motors, starters, relays, timers, panels, breakers, conduit, and wiring. Perform minor programming and troubleshooting of VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives) and PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers). Adhere to established safety programs such as lockout/tagout and ladder safety. Qualifications: High school degree or equivalent. Minimum 5 years
of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic experience in a USDA or FDA food manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in reading electrical schematics. Self-motivated, dependable, and safety-conscious. Preferred: Bilingual in English/Spanish and a valid Illinois Driver's License. The Maintenance Mechanic works under the direction of the Maintenance Manager and is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and preventive maintenance procedures to support the achievement of the company’s business goals and objectives.
Job Duties: 1. Maintains uptime on machines and equipment Assist maintenance manager with repairs to maintain machine/equipment uptime. Performs assigned tasks efficiently and effectively. 2. Facility/Equipment Maintenance Completes predictive and preventive maintenance on all machines/equipment/building/facility under the supervision
of the Maintenance Manager. Reports findings/concerns to Maintenance Manager. 3. Maintains maintenance and parts area in neat and organized manner Assures that maintenance equipment and work areas are kept safe, clean and organized at all times.
4. Special Projects Prepares and sets up new/existing machines/equipment for sample and/or production runs under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager. Assists Maintenance Manager with special projects. Qualifications: 1. Able to read and understand machine schematics and troubleshooting manuals. 2. Comfortable using basic computer software (Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word). 3. Able to use overhead crane. 4. Knowledge of general safety
