Job Summary Summary: Performs a variety of maintenance duties. Essential Duties and Responsibilities May Include: : Maintains, repairs, cleans and operates the plant, shops, mechanical areas, exterior grounds and campus facilities.Performs basic maintenance duties and repairs as assigned; contacts supervisors, skilled trade vendors or on: call personnel as instructed.Updates

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE : The blaster/painter must be highly productive, experienced in the multiple crafts involved and be an expert in the mechanic and use of all equipment, materials, and procedures necessary for the safe and effective surface preparation and application of coatings. The blaster/painter must be able to hold and a control 100 psi nozzle pressure. They must be proficient in spraying to maintain even mileage. Must possess knowledge of and have experience in different coatings. (Epoxy, urethanes, polyesters, vinylesters. ) Must have knowledge of Hazardous waste management.

Some knowledge of rigging. Must be proficient in all Safety aspects of his craft. Must be proficient in QA/QC requirements of his craft. Performs minor carpentry work. Applies paint, stain and other finishes to property walls, ceilings, floors, and furniture by using spray equipment such as airless sprayer and cup gun, rollers and brushes. Apply primers or sealers to prepare new surfaces for finish coats.

Mixes tints and pigment to produce desired colors to include putty and stains; Mixes and applies sprayed-on acoustic and wall texture. Remove old finishes by stripping, sanding, wire brushing, burning, or using water and/or abrasive blasting. Cover surfaces with appropriate material for protection during painting and post appropriate paint signs. Maintains paint equipment to keep it clean and serviceable along with adequate

working stock of paint, stain, tints and equipment. Operates air compressor. Maintains a clean and safe working area. Assists other craftsmen as necessary.

Operates electric golf cart as means of transportation. Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or GED required; Five or more verifiable years as a painter. Must maintain a valid driver's license, motor vehicle liability insurance and personal injury insurance, and complete the University Van Driver Training within 90 days of employment date.
