This position is responsible for troubleshooting and identifying facility problems. The incumbent has access to BCHD facilities on weekends and before/after hours to respond to emergencies and for services by program offices within the BCHD. Cleans and replaces worn parts on a variety of equipment. Patching and painting interior walls, unclogging sinks, sewer lines and toilets, and other minor repair tasks. Cleaning areas, to include but not limited to carpets, floors and walls throughout BCHD building and properties. Assists with maintenance issues regarding new homes as directed. Maintains vehicle/equipment maintenance logs and ensures proper maintenance of community vehicles. Coordinates and ensures completion of routine maintenance and minor emergency repairs. Ensures safe storage of hazardous chemicals and/or equipment. Prepares all maintenance-related logs in accordance of the Operations Manual. Reviews exterior improvement and tree maintenance/removal requests. Maintains inventory of equipment, tools, and supplies, including making purchases with approval and while adhering to budget guidelines.
Meets with Community Manager daily to report on the status of all scheduled maintenance work, notifying the manager of any hazardous conditions and recommended solutions. Issues resident rule reminders and violation notices; follows-up as needed. Assists Community Manager with aspects of the capital expenditure program, including reviewing budget variances as needed.
