Analyzes the process and suggests ways to improve operations. Uses independent judgment in performing responsibilities.
Works from general policies and objectives. Refers to supervisor when clarification or interpretation of organizational policy is in question. Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions) Analyzes the cement production process – raw materials to finish milling – and implements changes as needed for optimal operating conditions in terms of fuel efficiency, electrical efficiency
and production rate. Demonstrates pyro-processing expertise in performing regular responsibilities. Participates in the training of the control room operators on the proper ways of using plant equipment.
Works closely with shift process teams to ensure mills and pyro lines are consistently operated at peak efficiency. Performs programming of the plant’s programmable control systems and provides maintenance, documentation and improvements for computerized process systems. Performs performance testing and measurements on production equipment. Maintains equipment performance records including wear part life history. Provide technical support to the Production Department in achieving its
objectives of maximizing plant production of quality controlled cement in the most efficient and cost effective manner.
Optimization of process areas by testing, data gathering, sampling and the application of in-house expertise to provide progressive solutions to enable continual improvement in all aspects of the production process. Other Requirements Demonstrated analytical skills Demonstrated problem solving skills Excellent organizational skills Proficient in English written and verbal communication skills Knowledge of pyro-processing, thermodynamics, heat transfer, air flow and related principles. Working knowledge of PLC systems and instrumentation techniques and guidelines.
Experience 2 or more years of experience in a similar or related position. The Lead will also be responsible for performing a variety of production focused tasks to support the daily production goals. Essential Duties, Functions and responsibilities: Follows direction of Supervisor to assign and instruct
personnel of daily production duties. Observes equipment operation, notifying appropriate personnel of any malfunctions and/or safety issues/concerns. Provide accurate and timely feedback to supervisor regarding any issues or problems that may arise during daily production.
Helps coordinate daily set up of equipment to ensure the line is prepared to run on time. Complete required checks and measurements, record accurately. Assist in training and developing staff to ensure a quality product. Assist with new hire ergonomic evaluations and performance evaluations. Position is required to work before department start time in order to assist with area set-ups. Accountable to maintain punctual
and regular attendance for scheduled work hours. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Follows all safety, USDA, and GMP policies and guidelines.
Maintain a clean and organized work area. Ability to work in a fast paced environment. Ability to communicate effectively and follow verbal and written instructions & policies. Must be able to work in a team atmosphere and possess good leadership skills. Must have working knowledge of all positions on the line. Working Conditions/Department Description: There is mandatory seasonal work for approximately 5 to 6 weeks during the months of October and November, which includes working 7 days per week.
Job assignments are subject to the supervisor s discretion, and job duties may vary day-to-day depending on production needs. May work in damp, cold, hot, and warm environments. Work with loud and noisy machinery. Work with or around chemicals/fumes/pungent odors. Pay is base plus $1.05 job premium.
