The incumbent must be able to coordinate engineering, sociology, environmental and economic factors which influence the design of transportation systems. The incumbent must have the ability to recognize the necessity to deviate from current procedures to resolve issues relative to a particular project without compromising the cost effectiveness of the project. The incumbent must effectively apply a wide range of federal and state procedures, policies, and legislation to secure project approvals and prepare plans and contracts within the time scheduled for program implementation. Environmental Studies Coordinator - prepares and/or reviews Environmental Impact Statements, Air and Noise Pollution Studies, and secures the necessary environmental reviews, revisions, and approvals.
This position also identifies and schedules those sites requiring special waste studies and investigations. Geometric Engineer - prepares interchange and intersection design studies, conducts alignment and access studies, develops capacity analysis, determines if traffic signals are warranted, and advises other bureaus on geometric designs. Bridge and Hydraulics Engineer - prepares hydraulics reports, reviews consultants' reports for TS&L drawings and bridge plans, reviews hydraulic projects for permit requests, and is involved with Bridge Condition Reports and repair plans. CADD Supervisor - provides support to program development staff related to computer aided drafting and design software and hardware.
Executive Secretary - prepares and files correspondence and reports for the section, schedules meetings and appointments for various section activities, and provides secretarial support in general. The successful candidate will have visibility across many functional groups (engineering, operations, maintenance, etc. ) and will continuously drive to optimize efficiency, reliability, safety, environmental, and cost.
Job Responsibilities Support all Environmental, Health, and Safety programs, policies, and regulations. Manages production support engineering for a group of products after transfer from design to production. Interfaces with design, process, R&D, reliability, and quality teams to solve production problems. Sustains products with cost reductions and yield
improvements. Performs various aspects of process engineering work, heat transfer, equipment performance calculations. Monitor daily operations, production rates and product quality.
Continuously make key decisions to improve process efficiencies both in regard to quality and productivity. In collaboration with process control develop process control strategy, maintain control system code, and ensure that historical performance data is maintained. Assist operations in technical training to develop operations team on technical aspects of process and equipment. Network with other engineers externally to the plant and leverage share plant improvement learnings. Analyze data to identify root
causes of defects and implement appropriate countermeasures. This list is not all-inclusive and may include other duties as assigned and necessary for the operation and management of the shift and overall plant.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a chemical production environment with demonstrated ability to apply problem solving skills to lead improvement efforts. Demonstrated knowledge and commitment to Process Safety Management and ISO 9000/QS 9001 quality systems.
Six Sigma or LEAN Manufacturing experience Ability to make data driven decisions and utilize Six Sigma and Lean tools.
