The manufacturing engineering manager leads an department responsible for the design and development of assembly processes. Key functions of the organization include process sequencing, design of tooling and fixturing, process documentation, and design
of process verification and control systems. The assembly manufacturing engineers collaborate with product organizations to understand new product introduction designs and develop the associated processing plans to deliver necessary capacity.
The department's decisions must protect employee safety, exceed quality expectations, and meet acceptable cost levels. Process concepts must be developed with APQP rigor from process definition, process FMEA, standard

Supervise a team of manufacturing engineers completing process design and improvement activities Understand new product designs and develop processes to deliver quality product safely and efficiently.

Incumbent will also be responsible for workstation design adhering to the CPS structure, including 5s and waste elimination, during the development of a paced production packaging assembly process.
Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in an Engineering or Engineering Technology discipline AND 1 year of relevant experience OR Associates degree in engineering discipline AND 3 years of relevant experience OR 5 years of relevant experience Proficiency with MS Office; MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point Ability to design, evaluate, and modify fixtures/tooling for manufacturing Can establish priorities, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects concurrently Top Candidates will also have: 4 years of Caterpillar experience.
Have working knowledge of FMEA's, SPC, Project Management, Lean Manufacturing, Error Proofing, and Root Cause Analysis

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Conducts comprehensive backssments of proposed substation, communications, and transmission line sites and corridors, considering factors such as drainage, soil stability, seismic activity, and environmental impact.
Collaborates with engineering, real estate, environmental, and project management teams to develop site plans, ensuring compliance with local regulations and standards, including Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP), National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES), drainage ordinances, and oil containment requirements. Prepares comprehensive plans and specifications for civil and structural aspects of assigned
substation, communications, and transmission line projects. This includes foundation design, structural components, site plans, and geotechnical investigations and criteria.
Responsible for project scoping, including structural and site plans, specifications, and construction estimates. Oversees civil and structural design work, ensuring it aligns with project requirements and standards by performing and/or directing consulting third parties’ inspection and certification of construction activities. Facilitates communication between manufacturers, field representatives, survey contractors, and land agents to ensure smooth project execution. Maintains detailed records of all design plans,
construction activities, inspections, and project documentation.
Stays abreast of local regulations, codes, and environmental standards. Performs other duties as assigned.
