The Senior Mechanical Engineer is expected to handle most job functions without technical assistance and work under the CEO's general supervision.
The Senior Mechanical Engineer should be able to provide mentorship and technically oversee the work performed by junior engineers as required by the CEO. In In addition, the Senior Mechanical Engineer is required to assist with business development and sales, including developing client relationships, soliciting new work, and preparing project proposals. RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and cultivate relationships with existing and potential clients to solicit new business. Prepare documents related to business development, such as responses to RFQ and RFP and proposals.
Conceptual and detailed specification and design of mission-critical mechanical systems for critical facilities, including but not limited to data centers, financial institutions, e-commerce institutions, and other central plant campus-type projects. Produce and/or coordinate designs from schematic design development to the contract document phase of the projects. Design mission-critical mechanical systems such as HVAC, fire protection, controls, and plumbing. Provide code analysis and recommendations
to maintain mechanical code compliance for all relevant projects.
Have extensive knowledge of ASHRAE, AHRI, ASME, ANSI, and NFPA. Utilizes software tools such as Trane Trace and Future Facilities CFD to perform ASHRAE design calculations and Studies. Conduct analyses to develop design options or recommendations to prepare project documents. Utilizes software tools such as REVIT and Auto CAD to prepare Drawings and Sketches. Coordinate project tasks with the project team to complete the project on schedule Conduct work sessions virtually or travel to the project site to collaborate on projects with stakeholders. Review mechanical documents to resolve areas of conflict with all disciplines.
Continuously improve and edit mechanical specifications and equipment selection process for mechanical systems and devices. Coordinate with and assist affected disciplines with addenda, RFIs, CPRs, and change orders, and take responsibility for incorporating agreed-upon changes into the project documents on the project leading. Provide construction contract administration as needed Conduct QA/QC on the work of other Mechanical Engineers, Mechanical Engineers in Training or Mechanical BIM Specialists as needed Work independently on larger projects while coordinating with other project team members.
Work in coordination with the design project team to modify the detailed design to rectify nonconformance of design intent and existing field conditions. Prepare commissioning documents related to commissioning projects to prepare, conduct and close out. Perform commissioning tasks required to complete the commissioning project. Provides technical support and troubleshooting of ongoing client facility operations, as required Participates in project meetings internally and externally as Project Manager to ensure client's needs are met.
RELATIONS The Senior Mechanical Engineer maintains relationships with the Argo team, other business partners, and clients, adhering to Argo guidelines. Mechanical Engineers also maintain direct contact with other Engineering, Project Management, and Argo operations team, serving as the focal point of communication for different groups related to client services.
