What You Will Do The Process Engineer 2 supports Manufacturing Science and Technology for a broad range of consumer cosmetics,

Working under general/moderate direction, this individual will collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Marketing, Quality Assurance, Research and Development (R&D), and other function as needed to provide technical support in the design, development, and implementation of technical solutions for cost reduction and critical initiatives. Support the execution of the planned experimental design (i. e. sample collection, in-process testing, sample management, etc. ). Support with report preparation by compiling and analyzing and summarizing data using appropriate analysis techniques. Support change control deliverables/documentation, investigations, corrective/preventative actions, and new product release data collection and analysis. Support or lead conducting investigations related to product out of specification or process deviation, stability deviation, consumer complaints, and other investigations as applicable.
Conduct laboratory experimentation as needed related to investigations and root cause analysis. Support or lead in conducting troubleshooting supply issues, global change control (GCC), root cause analysis, and remediation for technical-related issues. Corrective Action and Preventative Action (CAPA) implementation and follow up to ensure CAPA effectiveness to address investigation and the root causes related to process deviation, stability, out of specification, out of trend, out of expectation, complaints, and others as applicable.
Support or lead in manufacturing process improvements through data analysis, identification of critical process parameters, the proposal of alternate process modifications, assistance in conducting DOE to determine the best processes, and assistance in conducting scale-up activities including pilot-scale and validation as required. Support in writing technical documentation including but not limited to Product Impact backssment, Technical Justifications, manufacturing work instructions, and INV reports. Works with general/moderate direction. Provide direction and mentorship to co-ops.
Decisions made at this level are limited in scope and authority. May assist in process or equipment validation. Qualifications What We Are Looking For Required Qualifications A minimum of a BS in Science or Equivalent Generally, requires (2-4) years related experience. Previous experience in a healthcare manufacturing environment desired but not required. Desired Qualifications General knowledge of product characteristics and their correlation with product/raw material performance and performance requirements of specific products or raw materials and the customer needs.
General knowledge of scientific principles for liquid/semi-solid formulation development (i. e. solution, suspension, semi-solid), solid dosage development (i. e. immediate and delayed-release), and other formulation development (i. e. Nasal Spray, Eye drops, Lozenges, and sterile products), engineered products and devices as applicable. General understanding of the process equipment and in-process control instruments. The Mechanical Engineering team is looking for expert candidates to support the design and fabrication of equipment including equipment in cyclic service. The team supports the design execution of our world-leading process gas facilities (e. g. hydrocarbons, helium, hydrogen, CO, ammonia) for both Air Products owned plants and those that are engineered and constructed for others.
Candidates will support the Global Operations Engineering team and will work with a diverse group of design and engineering personnel.
Principle accountabilities: Design and analysis of pressurized equipment and piping in cyclic service such as pressure swing adsorption vessels. Design and specification of static equipment such as pressure vessels and heat exchangers. Reviewing customer technical requirements and specifications and incorporating into project designs. Preparing technical specifications and conduct bid tab reviews. Providing operating plant support for the Process Gas business. This support requires interacting with Operations personnel to solve plant problems with equipment and piping.
Investigate causes of equipment failure. Develop repair methods and design changes to improve equipment reliability. Travel to supplier and operating plant sites both domestically and internationally is required. The amount of travel is normally 15%. Mentor and train junior mechanical engineers. Minimum proficiencies and qualifications: BSME or MSME required. 10+ years of professional experience performing detailed engineering and stress analysis of pressurized equipment and piping in cyclic service Strong working knowledge of design codes including ASME B31.1, B31.3, and Section VIII, Div.
1 & 2, TEMA standards and API standards. Experience with European codes and the Chinese GB code would be beneficial. Solid understanding of fatigue design of pressure components. Experience with Pressure Vessel design programs such as Compress and PV Elite is beneficial. Experience with Finite Element Analysis is a plus Experience in welding engineering and quality control is required. Experience in applying engineering principles in a field environment is beneficial. Effective communication skills and the ability to work with global team members to closure on technical issues.

3. Produce process controls project scope of hours and cost estimates. 4. Participate in P&ID development, operability and hazard reviews and define control systems reliability, operability and availability plans as required. 5. Develop technical risk matrix, support reliability/availability studies, contribute to risk mitigation and project execution plans. 6.
Develop control equipment functional requirement. 7. Develop control system designs, architecture, programming & integration specifications and plans. 8. Support SIL backssments and verifications in line with functional safety requirements described within IEC61508 and 61511.
9. Support product development activities where the goal will be increasing competitiveness by reducing installed capital cost or optimizing the project engineering hours within the Process Controls offers. 10. Product development work may require production of design specifications including instruments, control valves, analytical analytical equipment, DCS equipment, SIS equipment and other Process Controls deliverables.
Domestic and international travel to other Air Products facilities, customer locations and plant sites is estimated to be up to 15% of the time.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS BS or higher in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field with at least 10 years of applicable work experience. Experience in Functional safety applications. Experience developing control applications with Siemens PCS7 and Step7. Additional experience with other controls platforms is a plus. Detail experience in Control and Instrumentation applications. Demonstrable technical competence, effective communication, and be a self-motivated team player with a willingness to accept responsibility.
Ability to work under pressure and be comfortable with ambiguity. Experience in Green Hydrogen, Ammonia and Electrolyzer systems would be beneficial.
