Position Overview: This position is for a Civil Engineer who will prepare designs for earthwork, underground commodities, roads, foundations, profiles associated with DOD and USAF projects. The successful candidate must have strong organizational and teamwork skills, proven problem-solving abilities, can-do attitude, and the desire to innovate designs.

This role will specifically support the USAF Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) phase. Responsibilities: This role will support design development civil engineering designs for the GBSD program project by preparing studies, drawings, calculations, specifications, data sheets, and evaluations, in accordance with applicable procedures, codes, standards, and contract requirements. Work with other civil engineers and technical disciplines in a team environment.

The ideal candidate will have solid experience in executing design development and producing design documents for government customers in accordance with Unified Facilities Criteria and the Whole Building Design Guide, including drawings, UFGS specifications, and calculations. Development of grading and backfill design and drawings. Road design and design documents. Foundation design and drawings. Assist with boring oversight, and site inspection and review of existing facilities. Perform formal calculations and drawings. Review vendor information from subcontractors and integrate it into the design solution.

Execute to schedule requirement while maintaining a high degree of quality in work product. Coordinate closely with other technical disciplines in planning and executing work as an integrated team. Qualifications & Skills Basic Qualifications: BS degree in Engineering (Civil or related), from an accredited university, with at least 9 years of relevant experience. Registered Professional Engineer in USA (Civil or Structural Engineering). US citizenship is required per contract requirement. Possess active security clearance or ability to obtain security clearance.

Minimum Qualifications: Experience with Microsoft office programs, VISIO, and other common computer programs. Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written). Ability to utilize office automation tools effectively. Knowledge of industry and regulatory guides, codes, and standards, as well as Bechtel Corporate guides and standards. Relevant experience includes related specifications. Broad knowledge of the application of Civil engineering design principles. Preferred Qualifications: MS degree in Civil or related Engineering, from an accredited university.

Experience working with procedures meeting quality assurance programs such as ISO-9000. Prior experience working with government agencies, preferably the Department of Defense. Experience with use or knowledge of Revit and/or In Roads. Intermediate knowledge of developing CSI Masterformat specifications, or Specs Intact. Designs arrangement of machines and tools within the facility to ensure the most safe and efficient layout. Implements qualification and change management processes to ensure products or services meet customer requirements. Engineer must understand all safety risks of the process and design the processes such that safety risks are mitigated or eliminated.
