Performs basic to moderately complex grounds/facilities repairs, as required. Interacts with vendors to complete projects or to repair equipment. Ensures accuracy and safety in all operations. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Diagnose root cause of problem and correct issue with mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical components and PLCs in plant machinery and equipment.

Perform routine, predictive and preventive maintenance on all machinery. Maintain and repair motorized equipment. Operate manlifts and forklifts; transport heavy parts and equipment, and perform inspections on trucks. Identify needed parts to repair equipment and facility. Complete required paperwork to order new parts and

to track existing parts. Coordinate maintenance of parts inventory with MRO and purchasing personnel. Maintain grinders and associated blowers; adjust and sharpen blades.

Fabricate metal parts (e. g. brackets); perform welding as required. Maintain work logs as required. Perform basic to moderately complex electrical repairs and installations. Complete daily forklift safety/damage inspection checks. Perform grounds/facilities repairs and needed. Perform other related duties and assignments as required. OTHER FUNCTIONS: Maintain supplies at workstation. Train other Maintenance Associates. Train other plant associates on equipment and procedures. Respond to on-call emergencies as needed.

Use assigned timecard daily to accurately record time worked. Attend weekly shift meetings and/or monthly plant meetings, if required.

Actively participate in all plant safety programs, depending on location. Notify department supervisor if proper tools are not furnished to complete job functions. Education: High school graduate/GED. Experience: Minimum of two years of maintenance experience, at least one year of which must have been in mechanical and electrical maintenance. Knowledge: Knowledge of basic preventive maintenance scheduling and implementation required. Knowledge of basic carpentry and tooling. Must have excellent mechanical aptitude. Mental/Physical/Visual Demands: Position requires walking, standing, heavy lifting, bending, and twisting.

Must have correctable hearing and eyesight. Must be able to pass colorblindness test and be able to keep colors separate. Ability to learn basic electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills with on-the-job training. Must be able to lift 86 pounds maximum and lift with assistance 87 to 100 pounds. Ability to work well with others. Ability to work with some limited supervision to perform job. Must be skilled in working with hand and electrical tools. Working Conditions: Manufacturing plant environment with exposure to equipment noise, temperature extremes, and dust.

Work involves exposure to high voltage equipment and rapidly moving machinery. Equipment/Tools Used: Amp probe, basic hand tools, fork lift, hand power tools, O scope, OA torch, plasma cutter, soldering iron, volt meter, utility knife. Hearing protection, safety glasses, and steel toed shoes required. Safety: Safe work performance is required from each Associate at all times. Additionally, the proper discharge of safety responsibilities is an integral part of each Associate s performance appraisal. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities Direct, oversee, and manage fleet maintenance employees, including, but not limited to, supervisors, full time maintenance instructor, journey-level mechanics, tire specialist, general service workers, equipment detail technicians.

Provide guidance and direction in fleet maintenance functions (gasoline, diesel, electric and hybrid) and controls quality of fleet maintenance. Assist in developing and monitoring the division budget in coordination with the Director of Fleet Management to ensure effective operation and continued improvement of the division including assisting in researching and preparing proposals

for employee training needs and equipment upgrades and additions. Prepare and/or coordinate with other divisions/departments on any regulatory compliance documentation such as required in support of FTA triennial reviews, drug and alcohol audits, independent audits, state audits, EEO Program audit, etc.

Monitor Maintenance Division compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements. Maintain and evaluate maintenance records and reports, analyzes data and assists with the development of divisional policies and plans of action to ensure efficient and effective maintenance operations. Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual maintenance reports, data and operational logs; analyze problems

and develop/recommend course of action. Conduct Employee performance evaluations, reviews and approves time sheets for submission to payroll for processing.

Review daily reminder and monitors preventative maintenance on all equipment. Reviews repair orders and assignments daily and provide productivity report to supervisors provides coaching as needed to improve team performance. Maintain quality control and customer service activities for the division. Maintain work related safety awareness activities and respond to employee accidents or injuries. Assist in the development and implementation of maintenance policy and procedures which guide the Maintenance Division in providing and improving safe, high-quality transit services.

Determine schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities, based on work priority, quantity of equipment, and skill of personnel. Investigate accidents or injuries and prepare reports of findings. Apply the rules of contract administration in administering the collective bargaining agreement, service agreements, and other contracts. Represent Lane Transit District at meetings, including regional partners and public/private organizations. Supervisory Responsibilities This position will supervise others. Fiscal Responsibility Incumbent does not have direct financial authority.

Minimum Qualifications Required Education and Experience Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the job. Education and course work can substitute for years of experience. Typical qualifications would be: Experience: Six (6) years of progressively responsible transit vehicle maintenance experience (or related heavy equipment), including familiarity with hybrid and electric vehicles, and administrative duties relating to vehicle maintenance.

At least two (2) years of supervisory/leadership experience Associates degree in Applied Science, i. e. Automotive/Diesel Technology, electronics, Engineering, etc. or graduation from an approved technical, trade or vocational school or any combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities that would qualify the applicant for this position. Experience developing operation manuals, policies, and procedures. This classification has been designated as Safety Sensitive and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing. Preferred: ASE - Certification, Master Transit bus preferred. Experience in facilitating meetings, working groups, or groups with varying opinions.

A valid Oregon State Driver's License and a driving record acceptable to the District's insurance carrier. Possession of or the ability to obtain a valid Class B CDL with a P (Passenger Endorsement) issued by the State of Oregon within three (3) months of employment is required.
