Areas of responsibility include but not limited to: carpentry, plumbing, painting, and electrical trades work. RESPONSIBILITIES: Complete all work order tasks assigned in a timely manner. Diagnose all common faults of mechanical equipment by inspection, (e.
g. boilers, washers/dryers, stoves, HVACs) and using appropriate tools of preventative maintenance and inspection. Responsible for tools, keys, and materials assigned, and their stored security. Installation or assisting with carpet and linoleum. Perform interior and exterior painting / repairs also includes drywall work and painting. Maintenance and upkeep of plumbing systems. Alternate on-call duties with
other maintenance technicians. Remove snow / ice from residential and commercial facilities as required. Maintain safety of KIC Facility entrances. Inspect facilities and grounds for safety and security; identifies and reports hazardous conditions and facility maintenance needs to management.
Maintains records and logs of activities. Identifies parts and supplies to purchase for preventative and general maintenance. Provide information to manager in a timely manner. Performs custodial tasks. Assists with structural pest control measures. Other duties as assigned. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS : Maintenance Technician I HS Diploma / GED required Vocational or technical training OR 1 year building
maintenance / carpentry / floor installation experience preferred.
Current Alaska Driver's License with sufficient record to be insured by KIC OR ability to obtain license within 6 months of hire. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Maintenance Technician II All requirements of Maintenance Technician I Vocational or technical training OR 2 years building maintenance / carpentry / floor installation experience preferred. Maintenance Technician III All requirements of Maintenance Technician II Vocational or technical training OR 3 years building maintenance / carpentry / floor installation experience preferred. This is a fast paced multi-tasking environment requiring regular attendance of 40 hours per week. Work will require on-call and may include irregular work schedule, including weekends, early mornings, evenings, and holidays in the event of on-call emergent requests. While performing job duties, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is exposed to risk of electrical shock and vibration.
The employee is exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Employee required to work both with a team and individually.
