Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities: Plan, organize and manage the materials, parts and supplies acquisition, and storage and inventory control for the Des Plaines and Ray Hartstein campuses. Receive, respond and assign

priorities to emergencies, complaints and/or work requests from College personnel. Integrate preventative maintenance items into work program. Serve as Facilities representative to staff, faculty, and administrators as campus projects and events are planned.

Coordinate the budget process including developing recommendations, monitoring monies expended, encumbered, anticipating over-expenditures. Monitor and report departmental spending against the budget and notify administrator and/or staff. Program, maintain data, and supply reports with the Schooldude software system and train appropriate personnel on system. Review and prepare for payment all records, invoices and vouchers for Facilities

department expenditures, including projects, energy consumption and supplies.

Gather specifications, compile and prepare information required for bid/contract projects and maintain all related records. Responsible for monitoring energy usage at both campuses and prepare energy usage reports. Participate in the screening of potential utility suppliers. Organize, maintain, and analyze statistical building data, filing necessary reports for ICCB, FIRS, HEGIS and RAMP and other reporting agencies as required. Review interior signage requests and coordinate changes as needed. Assist the Director of Facilities in the day-to-day operations for both campuses.

Responsible for the Facilities office in the absence of the Director of Facilities. Represent the Facilities department on various College committees as assigned. Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Requirements: Qualifications and Working Conditions: Associates degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge can be acquired is necessary. Three years experience working in a Facilities or Construction operation is required. Three years of administrative assistant experience required. A high level of interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to deliver services in an environment where there is an emphasis on customer service are required.

Incumbent must be able to provide information and interact with individuals in situations requiring sensitivity and tact. Advanced knowledge and skills with Excel spreadsheets is required. Advanced knowledge and skills with Microsoft Office 2007 software applications is required. Must be able to prioritize, manage and organize multi-projects at the same time. Ability to utilize a computer to enter, retrieve and manipulate data is required. General office environment. Little exposure to adverse working conditions.

the Superintendent of Parks & Planning, the Maintenance I i s responsible for a variety of park maintenance, turf maintenance, ho rticulture, forestry, and custodial and recreation support activities. The normal work schedule is 7:00 a. m. to 3:30 p. m. and t he Park Maintenance I is on call as needed especially during seasonal weather.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assists with general maintenance of the Athletic Fields, Parks, Playgrounds, Turf maintenance, and all other areas assigned May assist with: Applying herbicides, fungicides, and pesticides to destroy undesirable growth and pests. Laying out, striping, and maintaining soccer, softball, football, lacrosse, and baseball

fields. Cleans and maintains all park pavilions, restrooms, and other assigned buildings. Maintains grounds through litter pickup, recycling, and other activities.

Responsible for, but not limited to, managing the safety and cleanliness of property and equipment by identifying, repairing, and inspecting park facilities, equipment and property from wear, damage, vandalism, etc. Maintains all Park District property, trails, paths, roads, parking lots, common sidewalks, and other surfaces, which includes, but is not limited to snow removal, debris removal, grading and light renovation. Responsible for the operation and preventive maintenance of Park District vehicles, tractors, ground equipment,

implements and ensuring it is performed and reported. The maintenance may include, but is not limited to daily inspections, washing, checking fluids and any other maintenance as needed.

Cross trains on all general areas of the Parks & Planning Department and assist in all areas needed. Demonstrates, leads, and supports the Park District's mission statement, vision, and core values. Establishes, supports, and maintains collaborative efforts with internal and external customers and organizations. Maintain a proactive approach to safety and risk management. Adheres to safety policies and procedures as outlined in the safety manual and performs all job tasks within the rules and guidelines of the Addison Park District's safety program.

Performs other duties as assigned. Secondary Duties & Responsibilities Assists in managing and completing the overall workload of the Parks and Planning Department in the area of Horticulture, which includes, but is not limited to planting tree s, shrubs and flowers and their respective maintenance (i. e. watering, fertilizing, flower bed arrangement/maintenance, etc. ) and other horticulture duties, as needed. May assist in repairing damaged recreational items such as tennis court nets, basketball courts, soccer goals, playground equipment, and shelters.

Documents work hours and materials used on work orders to specific job requirements. Receives quotes from vendors, such as work to be performed, equipment repairs or purchases, etc. and the time required. Attend workshops and seminars pertaining to employee's position, as need ed, for new ideas, developments, and techniques. May be required to work special events from time to time at night and on weekends. Required Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent. Preference is given to candidates with an education in a related field such as turfgrass science and management, and athletic turf management.

Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a related field. Must have a valid Driver's License. Possess a valid State of Illinois Pesticide Operator/Applicator License, preferred. Preferred CPSI (Certified Playground Safety Inspector) Must be CPR and AED certified within six (6) months of hire. Competencies Ability to follow directions and communicate in English both verbally and in writing. Ability to read an d understand materials, such as complex s ervice manuals, maintenance, and operators' manuals printed in English. Ability to make decisions objectively based on customer service and fiscal constraints.

Ability to work independently in day-to-day operations with the general direction of the Superintendent of Parks & Planning. Ability to delegate work, where appropriate, to accomplish work most effectively. Ability to demonstrate leadership qualities to perform required work. Ability to work in a team atmosphere, while promoting the Park District 's mission statement, vision, and core values. Ability to maintain self-control and composure in difficult situations. Ability to recognize priorities and meet deadlines. Ability to receive constructive criticism and/or supervision.

Ability to be flexible and adaptable to new situations. Possess enthusiasm and drive with a desire to accomplish goals and objectives. Working Conditions/Physical Requirements Position may be required to work both inside and outside during various environmental conditions, such as but not limited to rain and mud, hot and cold temperatures, exposure to dust, fumes, dirt, and noise. Frequent operation and handling of assigned equipment, which may include, but are not limited to athletic field equipment, tractors, general parks equipment, trucks, and general maintenance equipment.
