and or repair, install, maintain, adjust, the operation of all equipment, machinery and buildings. This position will train all lower level maintenance position associates. This position will fill in, in the absence of the Maintenance Superintendent. This position will be scheduled in a rotation for on call maintenance issues after hours on locations.
Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities Perform the duties of overseeing and or maintaining all equipment in the production areas. maintain all tools and equipment rquired for the position. Responsible for maintaining inventory of all parts and equipment neded to proficiently carry out the duties of the position. Effectively communicate
with managers any issues in which the position may be involved in on any given complex. Reposnible for the cleaning or overseeing of cleaning upon completion of any maintenance event.
Work with the superintendent in setting up maintenance repairs and P. M. schedules for all locations. Train all maintenance associates in the areas necessary to maintain a strong maintenance group. Train managers and hourly associates on power tools and or equipment that may be used. Provide coverage during off duty hours for emergency calls of maintenance brekdowns. Perform any other reasonable request by management. Minimum Education Reading, writing, and math skills and a high school diploma is required.
Vocational/Technical school training or five years of practical experience in each of five areas of specialization as described in the Sr.
Maintenance Mechanic Summary. Experience Requirements 4 plus years. Reading, writing and analytical skills are required. Must have all personal tools at all times and be able to use and operate hand tools and industrial shop equipment. Requires knowledge of math that relates to performing maintenance activities. Able to make correct calculations when completing mechanical, electrical or electronic maintenance repairs. Able to verify dimensions and diagrams for assembly, disassembly and troubleshooting purposes.
Able to determine clearance of parts to ensure conformance to specification using precision measuring instruments. Experience Preferred Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements 1. Position is active. On the plant floor activities such as troubleshooting and re-design of existing systems are routine. 2. May need to move equipment occasionally. 3. May need to access files, supplies and equipment. 4. Position requires an associate to have the ability to move throughout the complex and all facilities..5. When in a plant environment: Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.
May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity. May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db. May be exposed to all chemicals used in poultry, food, processing facility. The maintenance technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of business goals and objectives.
You are best suited for the role if you. Job Knowledge and Tasks Analyze test results, machine error messages, and information obtained from
operators in order to diagnose equipment problems. Clean, lubricate, and adjust parts, equipment, and machinery. Disassemble machinery and equipment to remove parts and make repairs.
Examine parts for defects such as breakage and excessive wear. Observe and test the operation of machinery and equipment in order to diagnose malfunctions, using voltmeters and other testing devices. Operate newly repaired machinery and equipment to verify the adequacy of repairs. Reassemble equipment after completion of inspections, testing, or repairs. Troubleshoot, install, repair and maintain the operating condition of industrial production and processing machinery and equipment, to include but
not limited to: hydraulic and pneumatic systems, motors, gearboxes, VFD/HMI/Servo control devices, conveying systems, industrial printers, valves, photo eyes, switches, heat exchangers, level controls.
Repair and replace broken or malfunctioning components of machinery and equipment. As applicable refer to blueprints and manufacturers' manuals to determine correct installation and operation of machinery. Operate and support industrial, refrigeration, boiler and utility operations. Cut and weld metal to repair broken metal parts, fabricate new parts, and assemble new equipment. Demonstrate equipment functions and features to machine operators. Enter codes and instructions to program computer-controlled machinery.
Complete scheduled preventative maintenance on equipment (planned and unplanned maintenance activities). Respond to production needs as they occur on the production floor. Complete accurate and timely documentation of maintenance records, work orders and task records. Accurately input and record PM (planned and unplanned activities into SAP or other MIS/ERP system. Comply with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's). Comply with federal, state and local safety regulations. Follow SQF and Company GMP and 5S guidelines to produce a safe and quality product Adhere to the Saputo code of ethics and actively apply the Saputo values.
Work together professionally in a team environment with coworkers and other department personnel. Other duties as required by management. Job requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Industrial ammonia refrigeration, high pressure boiler and utility experience. 1-2 year(s) prior industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing environment required. Ability to utilize computer-based maintenance planning/PM ERP platforms, SAP a plus. Ability to trouble-shoot electrical, hydraulic systems and pneumatic equipment.
Strong electrical background in addition to mechanical skills. Experience with computerized or automated controls and ability to read electric schematics a plus. Self-motivated detail-oriented and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Willing to work any shift, including overtime and weekends as necessary.
