Duties include receiving, cutting, rolling, placing and loading/unloading rolls of paper weighing up to 3500 lbs on and off of press equipment with the use of roll pushers. Duties will also include removing core plugs and metal bands. The F&K technician may be required to perform other necessary tasks throughout the plant including cleaning, general housekeeping duties, painting, sorting, cup-by-cup, lid-by-lid or tasks of a clerical nature. All employees must follow all Graphic Packaging International work rules, code
of conduct and safety procedures and policies including wearing personal protective equipment such as steel toed shoes, hearing protection and safety goggles.
WORK DEVICES/TOOLSconsist of the following: utility knife, miscellaneous hand tools, pallet jacks, computer inks, mill rolls of paper weighing up to 3500 lbs. for printing, lubrication and grease for preventative maintenance, tape, writing utensils, roll pusher, alum-a-lift, torqueing bar, protective gloves, floor scrubber EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED: 6 months' previous experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred Prior experience utilizing pallet jack -highly preferred Must be able to stand on concrete flooring for long periods of time with scheduled breaks Must be able to walk around machine/equipment frequently; surfaces are mostly concrete Must be able lift/carry weight approximately 35 lbs; the average distance carried is approximately 50 feet.
Lifts and dollies are available for transporting rolls of paper. Must be able to push the roll of paper utilizing push roller or alum-a-lift Must be able to climb a step ladder to change out the webbing. Must be able to bend slightly forward when loading paper into press. Must be able to kneel to perform cleaning/housekeeping tasks or to maneuver buckets.
Must have the ability to work in a high paced and multi-task environment Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision Overtime will be required as necessary including weekends. Demonstrated experience safely operating, maintaining and cleaning landscape equipment such as stump grinders, brush chippers, trenchers, aerators, tractors, roto-tillers and other commonly used power driven landscape maintenance equipment.
