Duties may also include parking vehicles, checking doors, providing escorts, assisting police officers, assisting motorists and other hospital staff with various services.
Performs specific job responsibilities: Monitors fixed posts and performs the services required while at those posts. Prepares and reviews security related reports as required. Effectively communicates with all segments of society and promotes cooperation among the security officers and other hospital employees. Transports, guards and/or provides security to patients, inmates, staff and visitors
as needed. Interacts with and assists outside agencies and/or law enforcement personnel while they conduct business at the hospital. Ensures assignments are fulfilled, duty posts staffed and facilities properly secured, monitor and provides crowd/traffic control on hospital property when needed.
Operates and uses standard issued equipment. Responds to emergencies when needed. Performs special assignments and other duties as assigned or directed by management. What We Require: Education: High School or equivalent required. Experience: Previous experience as a security officer preferred. Licensure/Certification: Valid Virginia driver’s license required. IAHSS Basic Training Certification
required within one year of hire. IAHSS Advanced Training Certification required within two years of hire.
