staff Duties and Responsibilities Stewards the philosophy/mission of PH Healthcare, which focuses on the overriding values of human dignity and respectful response to the needs of persons with life threatening/terminal and or chronic illnesses. Annually reviews and makes recommendations to executive management for improvement of the agency’s policies, procedures and practices on personal matters.
Works directly with department managers to assist them in carrying out their responsibilities on personnel matters. Maintains responsibility for agency personnel policies and procedures and ensures proper compliance is followed. Assists executive management in the annual review, preparation and
administration of agency wage and salary program. Coordinates or conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separation. Recommends, evaluates and participates in staff development for the agency.
Develops and maintains a human resource system that meets agency personnel information needs. Manages 401K sign ups and paperwork. Completes orientation of all new employees. Completes payroll paperwork for processing and changes of payroll as submitted. Checks new hire registry for professional staff. Checks references on all new employees. Orders all uniforms of new hires. Works with DON on making sure CPR is current on all staff. Works with Trak-1 on all new employees and volunteers
for hiring process. Manages all ads for all positions in newspaper and computer.
Manages insurance signups for all staff and changes sent to QBS. Processes I-9 paperwork on all new employees. Runs OIG monthly on all staff. Makes sure all car insurance is current and up to date. Checks license of all personnel to verify current nursing/social worker/CNA license. Processes paperwork on employees with injuries thru Workman’s Compensation and monitors as needed. Make sure all paperwork sent to QBS for new hires and termination paperwork is timely. Qualifications Must possess, as a minimum, a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university. Must have, as a minimum, current experience in health related field management with at least three (3) years experience in the last five (5) years.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant. Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, patients, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public. Must possess the ability to work harmoniously with other personnel. Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures, etc.

Must have patience, tact, professional character, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle patients, staff and visitors based on whatever maturity level at which they are currently functioning. Working Conditions Works in office areas as well as facilities when necessary. Moves intermittently during working hours Is subject to frequent interruptions. Is involved with personnel, government agencies/personnel, etc. under all conditions/circumstances. Is subject to hostile and emotionally upset personnel, visitors, etc. Works beyond normal working hours when necessary including weekends and holidays.
Is subject to call-back during emergency situations. Attends and participates in continuing educational programs. Make sure the proper paperwork is completed and filed after every job completion. Keep your technical qualifications current by finishing any required training programs. Take care that the vehicle is cleaner when the job is completed than when the customer dropped it off.

Ensures that appropriate spiritual services are provided in a timely manner by either providing such to the patient/family or coordinating the provision of services with community clergy or spiritual counselors.
Provides direct spiritual services to patients/families according to their belief system and practice. Participates in the development of the interdisciplinary group (IDG) plan of care to meet identified spiritual needs. Conducts religious services for patients/families as well as hospice and facility staff as requested. Serves as a liaison and support to community
clergy and spiritual counselors. Documents services provided and/or ongoing communication with community clergy and spiritual counselors in a timely manner. Maintains records of spiritual services utilization and related activities as directed for quality backssment and performance improvement (QAPI), hospice program development, and policies and procedures review and revision.
Provides consultation, education, and support regarding spiritual issues and care to the IDG members and facility staff. Recruits an adequate number of community clergy and/or spiritual counselors to meet patient/family needs. Acts as the hospice spiritual services community liaison by developing community contacts
and offering hospice education to a variety of clergy, counselors, and congregations.
Provides funeral or memorial services for patients as requested. Plans periodic memorial services to meet the needs of IDG members, volunteers, facility staff, and community clergy/spiritual counselors working with the IDG. Primarily responsible for conducting or arranging the memorial service associated with the hospice bereavement program as requested. Assists in the supervision of spiritual care volunteers when assigned to patients/families. May have access to personal health information (“PHI”) necessary to fulfill the above duties and responsibilities. Minimum Education & Experience Requirements: Graduate of accredited seminary or school of theology (BD, MDiv or equivalent theological degree), or certification in Level I and II of Clinical Pastoral Education (from an accredited ACPE Center).
Experience working with death and dying, terminal individuals, and their families or caregivers. Hospice experience preferred. Skills, Abilities & Knowledge Requirements: Knowledge of the hospice philosophy of care. Good verbal and written communication, and organizational skills. Able to work as a member of the IDG. Able to effectively communicate with clinical and non-clinical employees, patients and family/caregivers.
Able to perform and prioritize multiple functions or tasks. Able to effectively deal with change. Able to provide proof of valid driver’s license and proof of valid auto liability insurance if assignment includes driving own vehicle.
