Responsible for analysis of current network, security and telecommunications applications and systems including performance diagnosis and troubleshooting of problems, as well
as designing solutions to problematic communication and networking issues.
Configures, edits, and troubleshoots new systems and configurations for assigned projects, including secure data throughput. Documents configuration consistently throughout the deployment and support process by documenting design, special installation or support instructions, and any changes made in configurations. Responsible for utilizing tools and equipment involved in performance of essential functions of networking, security and telecommunications systems, including testing and measuring instruments. Ability to maintain positive internal and external client interactions.
Research and recommend network management and support tools to management. Provide assistance to testers and support personnel as needed to determine system problems. Review, to the extent possible, changes in networking and telecommunications environment that will affect communications performance. Provide recommendations to Sr. management concerning issues of network topology, security settings or telecommunications performance. OTHER POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Attends regular staff meetings, prepares brief correspondence and reports, verbally communicates technical information, makes presentations to groups outside immediate work area, develops and documents procedures, follows up and researches questions and needed information, interacts with managers and senior management from different credit union clients on a regular basis.
Interacts with networking and server support staff. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's Degree and six to eight years of experience in network, security, telecom or IT systems development. Equivalent experience level may offset educational requirement. Must demonstrate a good working knowledge of moderately complex systems, including experience with EIGRP, F5, Palo Alto, BGP, OSPF, SD-WAN, VPN, IDS, IPS, TACACS, RSA.
Professional certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, MCSE or security certifications preferred. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to solve problems quickly and completely.
