Works with the different departments, bureaus, divisions, and cities within Salt Lake County to configure Records Management to meet Emergency Management needs and performs technical tasks associated with planning, organizing, and completing GIS projects. Prepares professional applications, reports and/or maps, and other graphic displays using appropriate database and cartographic principles that conform to agency standards.

Provides specifications for software and hardware to facilitate GIS needs throughout Salt Lake County, including recommendations for improving workflows, current practices, and the overall function of GIS within the EM Bureau and UFA. Ensures that the GIS system and all required licensing are maintained efficiently and kept up-to-date by evaluating and incorporating advances in technology and software as it pertains to emergency management and response. Maintains and enhances skill level and knowledge by attending industry trainings, conferences, and applicable seminars.

Participates in regional and other user group meetings to provide perspective and gain insight into intergovernmental, interagency, and multi-organizational efforts in GIS coordination and collaboration.
