TRIBAL PREFERENCE POLICY: Members of the Jena Band of Choctaw Tribe shall be given absolute preference with respect to hiring, promotions, training, contracting and separation from employment. For persons who meet the minimum qualifications, preferential treatment shall be based on the following criteria and shall be given in the following order: Enrolled members of the Jena Band of Choctaw tribe who satisfy the minimum job qualifications; Spouses of enrolled members of the Jena Band of Choctaw who satisfy the minimum job qualifications; Enrolled members of other recognized tribes who satisfy the minimum job qualifications; Military Veterans; All others who satisfy the minimum job qualifications.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Knowledge of tribal, federal, and state gaming, criminal, traffic, and civil code and laws. Knowledge of security operations, principles and practices including investigation, patrol, communications, records, community/public relations and crime prevention.
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other law enforcement/regulatory agencies, departmental staff, tribal officials, and the public. Skill in analyzing problems, projecting consequences, identifying solutions and implementing recommendations. Ability to interpret applicable federal, state, county and local laws, regulations and rules. WORKING CONDITIONS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for 12 hours or more; walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. Work is generally performed in a casino environment where employee may have frequent contact with the public and be exposed to moderate/high noise levels, dirt, dust, unpleasant odors and second-hand smoke.
The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. Prolonged standing and walking may be required between buildings and other areas; situations may occur where there is exposure to hazards or physical risk.
