The Armed Security Officer performs the following functions: Uses discretion and exercises good judgment in the performance of duties and in the interaction with employees, contractors and visitors.
Provides outstanding customer service through courteous, helpful, and professional contact with employees, guests and visitors both in-person and via telephone. Demonstrates superior skills in handling crisis and emergency situations in a calm, professional manner while demonstrating sound judgment. Demonstrates sound
de-escalation techniques in handling employee and visitor complaints and feedback. Uses the utmost discretion in the handling of sensitive and confidential information.
Must be well mannered, well-groomed and highly professional. Conducts foot patrols of Customer facilities. Communicates with the Security Operations Center via hand-held communication devices. Effectively communicates and explains Customer policies and procedures to Customer employees, contractors and visitors. Proactively monitors security camera software, alarms, telephones and card access system event activity and responds to and investigates alarms, unauthorized attempts, suspicious activity and any other potential
critical security or Customer business related issues. Responds to alarms and emergency situations and renders aid as necessary.
Ensures all daily activity is accounted for via daily activity reports and/or shift blotters. Completes detailed incident reports via a computerized incident reporting system. Reviews daily pass on information with other officers to ensure significant issues are followed up on and reported as necessary. Conducts preliminary investigations and completes incident reports on occurrences involving emergencies, parking lot incidents, thefts and Customer policy violations. Controls the issuance and return of access cards and keys and makes appropriate entries in the corresponding logs.
Provides escort for employees and contractors as required or requested. Conducts safety inspections of fire extinguishers, emergency exits, lighting fixtures, etc. and forwards items that need attention to the Customer Physical Security Manager. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Account Supervisor and or Customer Physical Security Manager. Should have own weapon, duty belt, and protective vest.
