work supporting operations 24 hours per day, 365 days per year. Everyone can expect to rotate through a variety of shifts including days, nights, holidays and weekends with proper notice.
KEY QUALITIES Excellent communication skills to listen, speak and provide direction in-person, by phone and over radio communications. Well established decision making skills to analyze situations quickly and objectively. Ability to learn a considerable amount of factual material such as laws, statutes, regulations, ordinances and procedures and apply appropriately based on the circumstances. Excellent written communications skills to write clear, accurate and concise reports in a timely manner. Ability
to stay composed and perform effectively in emergency and high stress situations.
Ability to engage in rigorous physical activity. Ability to operate assigned equipment skillfully and safely. PAY $29.04-35.29 per hour, plus incentive pay: Voluntary semi-annual bonus for qualified physical fitness tests Intermediate Police Officer Certification - Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (3.5% added to base pay) Advanced Police Officer Certification - Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (3.5% added to base pay) Bilingual Premium Pay (5% added to base pay after testing) Advancement to Senior Police Officer range after 5 years of employment Stability Pay (2% beginning at 10 years) Assignment Pay (Detective rotation 10% added to base pay) We value your experience and will consider compensation based on years of service with another agency.
