Substation, AMR, & SCADA Technician

testing before installation. Will analyze and repair circuit switchers. Will monitor all substation power Will perform all maintenance, when needed, including bushing replacement, pressure adjustments, and oil leaks. Will perform an annual gas analysis, dielectric, and PCB oil test.

Will perform the installation of mobile transformers when needed. Will direct and assist crews during the installation or change out of electronically controlled devices. Will construct and maintain a substation-troubleshooting Will edit and update procedures for switching order of substation ties, as well as taking clearances on distribution and transmission lines. Will perform annual class on the operation

of substation equipment. Will construct and maintain substation inventory manual for Accounting/RUS. Will be responsible for the completion of upgrades on equipment in substations.

Will assist in reading schematics, termination of all control cables and completion of work for construction of new substations. Will be responsible for the final markups on substation " as built" drawings and wiring schematics. Will design and fabricate brackets, platforms, tools, and stands for use in substations (Units are built with the use of metal and the forming and pouring of concrete). Will be responsible for the installation of AMR and SCADA equipment in the substation. Will install and

maintain fiber optic communications Including the testing and constructing of a baseline of test results.

Will perform other duties as assigned or directed. May be subject to 24-hour call out May be subject to an On- Call Will observe all safety rules and regulations as required. This includes Craighead Electric, Arkansas Public Service Commission, RUS, and Equipment and Chemical Manufacturers. Metering, Load Control, DER System Will inspect and monitor all electronically controlled devices. Will perform monthly inspections on all recloser and capacitor banks and will conduct repairs as Will perform bi-annual inspections and tests of regulators located on the system. (Approximately 70 units).

Will construct capacitor banks as needed. Will assist the load control technician in the installation and maintenance of equipment. Will develop instruction procedures for electronically controlled equipment. Will direct and assist crews on the installation of electronically controlled devices (AMR). Will be responsible for troubleshooting of the AMR system operations. Will perform inventory/test of all CT's located in field use. Will perform a complete conversion of 3-phase A-base meters over to S-base on the system. This includes the rewiring of new socket bases and the installation of reactive meters.

Will assist construction crews during storm damage as needed. Will be responsible for the supervision of contract crews during major storm outages. Will assist maintenance supervisor, dispatcher, and servicemen in troubleshooting complicated voltage blinks. This includes the download and translation of relay control event reports. Will read meters monthly. Will assist in the installation and maintenance of surge arrestors and will perform installation and maintenance of 3-phase meter loops as Substation and Line Equipment Will maintain inventories and updates for all SEL, relays.

Will be responsible for the programming and testing of all relays located on the system. Will coordinate with operations and maintenance supervisor on all information needed on relays, such as test results, event reports, and possible upgrades. Will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of all relays located on the system. Will be responsible for the ordering of relays for specific uses. Will be responsible for the construction and maintenance of all RPM/battery monitors for the battery systems in the Will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of SCADA relay and communication devices.

Will be responsible for the maintenance and inventory of all equipment used to test electronically controlled devices and Will be responsible for installation and maintenance of AMR equipment in substations. In-House Duties Will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining the recloser/regulator shop. Will be responsible for the cleaning and maintaining of high voltage lot and storage. Will be responsible for the repairs of regulators and reclosers as needed. Will assist groundskeeper on projects when needed, i. e. concrete batter boards, wire pulling, and add-ons. Will maintain and clean company-assigned vehicles and all other special equipment.

Will assist in all other duties as requested by supervisors. Will recommend improvements that may be made in practices, methods, and procedures within the area of this job responsibility. All Other Duties Will assist the safety coordinator on safety demonstrations for public service and on other special projects. Will maintain certification of HAZWOPER technician. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Valid driver's license Ability to communicate effectively with supervisor, other employees, and customers in a polite and professional manner, either by phone or in person. Ability to work in a confidential manner with the CEO and Staff. Ability to work with generation and transmission personnel.

Ability to use a computer terminal, personal computer, i Pad, and various software. Ability to use various electronic equipment as required. Ability to learn mechanical skills. Ability to possess knowledge of transmission lines, substations, and distribution line specifications and system operations. Ability to possess knowledge of substation and major feeder locations throughout the electrical system. Ability to possess knowledge of all CECC, Federal, State, and APSC safety rules and regulations. Ability to analyze and interpret Cooperative, RUS, EPA, NEC, and APSC rules and regulations that pertain to job duties.

Ability to read, test, and change out electrical meters on CECC Ability to operate CECC forklifts. Ability to maintain transformer inventory. Ability to work directly with CECC/AECC Experience and Education High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience/ training in the use of computers and computer terminals. Technical background in electronics. Additional education/work experience may be considered in lieu of education/work experience. Experience in meeting and dealing with people in a business setting Journeyman/Masters electrician license preferred.

Physical Characteristics The work of position is generally varied. Position requires physical exertion. This position requires a person who is in strong physical condition.
