Job Description The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the production process in a 24/7 manufacturing facility, with a strong focus on implementing and maintaining a Total Productive Maintenance culture within the organization.
This role will lead and inspire cross-functional teams, develop and execute TPM strategies, and drive continuous improvement efforts to optimize equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and enhance overall operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities: Safety and Compliance:
Ensure that all activities and processes adhere to safety standards and regulations. Promote a culture of safety and compliance throughout the production department.
Leadership: Champion the adoption and integration of TPM principles throughout the organization. Build and lead a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement. Develop and communicate vision, strategy, and objectives effectively to all levels of the organization. Process Optimization: Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in the production process; implement solutions to improve flow and reduce waste. Utilize Lean manufacturing techniques to streamline operations and reduce lead
times. Collaborate with maintenance teams to establish and maintain preventive maintenance schedules.
Support predictive maintenance technologies to detect and address equipment issues proactively. Ensure rapid response and resolution to equipment breakdowns to minimize production disruptions. Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related training, equipment uptime, and process efficiency. Generate reports and dashboards to track progress and make data-driven decisions. Lead cross-functional teams in problem-solving and root cause analysis activities. Drive Kaizen events and other improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and quality. Associates Training and Development: Train and develop direct reports on how to successfully run a highly efficient and well organized production floor.
Provide training and coaching to production teams on Lean and TPM principles share best practices. Foster a culture of ownership and accountability among associates for equipment and process reliability. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Process Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred). Minimum of 5 years of experience in mid-level to senior plant manufacturing role. Minimum of 3 to 5 years of Process Engineering experience. Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
In-depth knowledge of TPM principles and methodologies. Proven track record of implementing TPM programs and driving continuous improvement. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools. LSS Green or Black Belt certification preferred.
