POSITION TITLE / LOCATION Value Stream Production Manager, Salisbury JOB CLASSIFICATION Professional Management POSITION REPORTS TO: VP of Operations POSITION OVERVIEW The VSM Production Manager, Salisbury, will oversee all manufacturing operations (all shifts) for assigned area, providing clear and decisive leadership in the areas of safety, productivity, housekeeping,
cost effectiveness and continuous improvement. The VSM Production Manager will act as a critical influencer over the achievement of plant goals and divisional objectives for the Salisbury facility.
The individual in this role will partner with production supervisors and other managers at the Salisbury and Portsmouth sites to ensure that their areas of accountability are consistently achieving or exceeding targets through a culture that rewards high performance, accountability, growth & development, continuous improvement, and safe practices. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Lead, coach, motivate, and engage team members and peers to achieve operational objectives and goals thru
the strong influence of a data and metric driven culture. Communicate with and influence other leaders across the organization relative to plant practices and positive performance management with and environment that fosters fact based, open feedback.
Establish, implement, and monitor key performance indicators to drive a culture of high performance based on the SQDC model. Create a culture committed to and excelling at achieving the high standards of housekeeping, safety, quality, and regulatory compliance as expected within the broader Milliken organization. Evaluate operational performance of the team to facilitate performance management, merit, promotions, development opportunities, and job transfers.
Support continuous improvement in all areas, including but not limited to: quality, productivity, cost, and delivery through both direction and the empowerment of staff in decision making Work with all departments to allocate operational, material and staffing resources effectively while producing optimal results. Work collaboratively with R&D, Process Improvement, Quality and Regulatory groups to facilitate problem-solving and corrective actions for production related issues. Act as a positive team collaborator and leader within the operations management group MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, business management, supply chain management, production management, or related field.
Experience may be considered in lieu of degree. 10+ years of manufacturing experience and 8+ years of proven leadership experience. Experience with a structured manufacturing performance system, such as TPS, LEAN and/or Six Sigma. Proven skills in leading, motivating, and developing a high performing team. Strong influencing, problem solving, and analytical skills. Evidence of self-initiative, personal accountability, and follow through.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with agility to juggle competing tasks and demands while managing priorities. Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders. Consistent demonstration of sound judgment and professionalism. Willingness to embrace and embody the core values of Milliken. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience in Chemical handling or chemical processing environment. Experience using ERP/MRP systems required, SAP experience preferred. Key Responsibilities Directly supervises production employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company's policies and applicable laws.

Maintains time and production records, records, and tracks employee attendance. Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations. Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties. or assists employees in solving work problems. Requirements for Consideration Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience; 10+ industry-related progressive manufacturing experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Prior experience managing a unionized hourly workforce strongly preferred.
