A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CNC MACHINIST As a CNC Machinist, you're responsible for taking full command of our CNC machining process, which includes milling, turning, and maintaining an in-depth knowledge of materials and tool selection for proper application.
Throughout the manufacturing process, you machine large, complex parts as well as use a range of set-up techniques to ensure optimum quality and productivity. You maintain a thorough understanding of work fixture offsets and how to program different features. Additionally, you perform advanced metal-cutting operations and inspections of your own work products.
You demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, continuous improvement, and a desire to achieve established quality and productivity levels. As needed, you attend work cell and company meetings. Troubleshoot problems and take corrective action, request assistance from Technician supervisor on more complex problems. Correct standard tooling problems or call a technician if there is a need for more extensive repairs. Training of inexperienced people in all procedures. Test units per ATI.
